You celebrate the greatest thing to happen to you financially by offering up this poor excuse for a sale? Well, aside from the mana potions I guess, but I usually don't buy things like that from the store.

You guys had better sales for other random events than you have for this. Why not bring back one of the super point bundles or offer more of the packs on sale? I looked expecting prime beef and got select. :(

Nothing says, "Hey FtP, come to the dark side!", like a good point and pack sale. It's what got me to open up the wallet.

Are points on sale? The 6700/$50 usually suckers me in.

I'm unable to access the game, so I don't know if they are or not. BUT, according to this (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=271949) the points won't be going on sale. I hope that those items are just a portion of what will actually be on sale. I don't expect everything to be 50% off, but I sure would love to see some 20-25% off adventure pack sales that we saw so often in the first couple months of the game.

As I recall, the last time they did the $50 for 6900 points every adventure pack in the game was 25% off. so having items on sale doenst seem to eliminate putting points on sale,'

You know this how?

NB - I don't disagree with the rest of your post, but do you have some access to Turbine's sales figures that the rest of us don't have?

I read it as "better / more useful items on sale", not "better sales numbers according to the accounting department"

The Doc is correct on my intention.

So as a non-player you are outraged?

Ah, I see. This is probably a transatlantic dialect thing then like how you guys always leave the word 'of' out following the word 'couple' (as in 'a couple of things'). Not a criticism, mind you, just an observation.

Considering that its only the first 9 days shown they might be putting better items out later in the month.

Usually sales include less popular items to help boost their sales but include good items as well to entice people to at least look around.

Just because they dont have an item YOU want every single day is no reason to slam them when only part of the months offers are listed.

Right after I joined as F2P, they had a sale for 6900 points for $50.00, which I couldn't pass up. I ended up buying a couple adventure packs that were on sale at the time as well, and finally ended up just going VIP during the 6 months for $9.99/month just because I got tired of waiting for packs to go on sale. So far I haven't regretted it - I love being able to go anywhere I want to without worrying about if I've bought the pack for it already or not...

Back on topic - I agree with the OP to an extent, but this is just the first week - I would figure they'd be having sales the entire month, so for all we know they WILL be putting some good deals on points/packs out there.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with that post. One, I'm not outraged and never will be at this game because that's what it is....a game.

No hard feelings, it's hard to make sure things come across as intended in text and differences in culture and such only further complicate things at times. ;)

Okay first thing is, I did miss that it was for the whole month. I reread the advertisement after reading your post. Still a rather unimpressive offering (once again, my opinion) to start it all off with, but that being said I do look forward to bigger and better things to come this month.

Secondly, I'm not slamming them, but my original statement was on the basis of my (incorrect) assumption that it was just a 1 week +2 sale period. To be honest, there are hardly any items ever put on sale that I want except for adventure packs. I usually glance at every new promotion posted and the go on about my business. It's not so much the items, but the lack of sense of a true "celebration" of something that was pivotal in Turbine and DDO's success. I mean come on, 50% off full plate armor? You can't deny a that's rather lame sale (item, not the 50% off). :p

Eh, personally I'm holding out for a Labor Day points sale so I can get Red Fens and a couple of alignment changes.

Op. *shrug* one person's trash is another person's treasure.

At less than 300, I could see picking up some extra bank space on characters that I am not TRing.

I'll fully admit to being confused about the full plate though. It is almost like their formula requires them they choose some high end and some low end stuff.

They usually don't announce Turbine Point deals ahead of time. It is likely there will be one though.
