Ok my Fighter is level 8 - nearly level 9, so I am thinking at level 9 to change class to Paladin. Reason being is Paladins are like Fighters, but with their own heal and maybe some buffs? Correct me if i'm wrong. I am an utter noob to the online game world, so what do you think?

Rule #1 of multiclassing: Plan for it from level one. If you just want to level as you go, stay pure. You still might not be as optimal as a planned build, but multiclassing opens up a whole new world of accidental gimpage if you aren't careful.

You almost certainly do not have the stats to make multiclassing Pali worthwhile if you didn't plan for it from the start. You would need to post your current build before anyone could give you any concrete advice.

Ah okie. I certainly did not make a plan of that from the start, and now I am glad I asked before I went in there like an eejit to change her class to Paladin. Well I will stay pure fighter on my fighter, but I would like to try multiclass on a new toon, incorporating Paladin into it, so I will read up on multiclasses here first and plan it out first.

Thank you. I could have messed up my fighter there. :)

ya to make a pala level worth the effort you need at least some charisma and wisdom... both are dump stats on a fighter.

wisdom is a dump stat on pallys as well. it is always a good idea to check out builds on the forums before deciding what to do. you don't have to follow the builds but at least you'll know why...

Actually Paladin as a pure class is not a bad choice, some of their most powerful benefits kick in late and require a focused build at the start to achieve. The tier 3 (level 18) Prestige Enhancements are quite powerful. So take a look in the Paladin forums and builds and get some ideas.
