View Full Version : is TWF a viable build with 28 pts?

As stated. I figured THF is the way to go with a 28 pt build. Don't have WF so I'll probably go human. I haven't found many up-to-date builds yet but i'm sure with some digging I can find something suitable.

16/16/15/8/8/8 should be workable. Need +1 Dex tome before level 9, easily doable even on a first character.

Cool. I was thinking of this build but with the stats for 28 pt build and only +1 tome -- maybe dwarf instead of human (i could go 17/16/15/10/8/6 get the same skill pts as human build, +1 str, and trade the free human feat spent on khopesh for dwarven axe).

But then I probably have to spend enh pts on axe and human gets human adaptability for the +1str.

Then the dwarf only comes ahead on 100% fort mobs? Seems like they're so close they're both viable. Both probably being second to WF (which I don't have).

Don't forget that Human Adaptability buys you +1 Str via enhancements so in the end it totally cancels out into a very minor advantage in Con, hardly noticeable on a Barb.

As you said it's really close so it's down to a style issue.

I guess I miscalculated that the 16 - > 17 costs 3 pts.

I could do 16,16,15,8,8,8 with human. Counting human adaptability +1 to str then he's: 17,16,15,8,8,8

The dwarf could either go 16,16,16,10,8,6 (to keep the same skill pts as human), or 16,16,17,8,8,6 - giving the dwarf an edge on con in both cases, and the human an edge on str. Everything else would be somewhat equal (except the dwarf will probably spend enhancement points on dwarven axe, giving the human a bit more to spread around).

I am guessing 1 str point isn't going to make or break a build dpswise. I'll just flip a coin and pick one when the time comes =).
