I have a Rogue Mechanic WF and thought that if I can Wrack Construct why can't I repair or heal a construct like a WF. It would make sense that the Rogue Mechanic path would be able to do this as a Granted feat to repair and heal constructs like Warforged. Figure it would be similar to the Paladin "Lay of Hands" feat but only to constructs.

Just saw this. Almost seems like a similar idea

Well, Mechanics do get a heal over time ability that uses a skill boost. It can be used on self, party members, or even the defender you can summon. Maybe the amount should heal more at higher tiers or take repair skill into account, but the basic ability is there.

Rogue Mechanic I
Grants a +2 bonus to Disable Device, Open Lock, Repair, Search, and Spot skills, proficiency with repeating light crossbows, and increases your chances of successfully scavenging parts from traps. Traps you set have improved save DC's. Also grants the ability to add your intelligence bonus to damage with crossbows, and the ability to expend a use of Skill Boost to repair a warforged

Also the repair granted by Rogue Mech. I can also be used on the metal dogs or any other construct.

However, that ability is barely even used because you have to get the person to stay still for about 10 seconds (btw, harder to do then you think in PUG's) and it becomes useless at higher levels. It needs to be improved but I'm not complaining since mechanic rogues already got a lot of love in update 5.

I use it occasionally as a source of free healing for WF. I agree that the time REALLY needs to go down in order for it to be of great use. Otherwise by the time you finish, "tying their shoelaces" someone else has thrown a heal on them. :)

Thanks for the help and yea the repair clicky seems lacking. It should improve as each level increases.

It'll give purpose to the mech again. Fleshys have Clerics, bards, rangers, and Paladin (except the heal clicky can heal WF with no problems). WF have ?? wizards and paladin heal clicky. Seems unbalanced.

warforged have both. do not underestimate this. even though they have a penalty to normal healing they still have divine healing and they get healing from the arcane. don't forget the heal spell eather. it tends to be overkill so the penalty doesn't matter.

only problem is getting them to stand still long enough to use it

The problem, like the rest of the rogue skills, is that it is too slow for the speed on the game.

They should just make it like a castable repair spell.

That'd work.

Otherwise, you may as well just UMD wands.

Compare it to the Virt song of regen for time and effectiveness.
