Chain quest question

So if I am doing a quest like tanglewood does it matter if I do the earlier segments on easy and then do the final battle on hard as far as loot goes? Can I rip through the early sections on easy and then turn up the difficulty for the rewards at the end or does the entire chain difficulty level effect the end loot?

End Rewards for anything are not dependent upon difficulty level.

It changes the difficulty of the mobs and the value of the chests in the quest. It does not impact the end reward list.

Higher difficulty levels will also adjust the loot tables for the chests and higher difficulty also means more Favor.... ;)
