View Full Version : Early Morning EST Lag
Hey Turbine,
Whatever you are doing from 6:00 am EST to 8:00 am EST that is causing mailbox lag, vendor lag, and loading lag please stop.
This problem is consistent. It happens every day, Monday through Sunday. It causes a very annoying problem while zoning, trying to mail or recieve mail, and trying to sell or repair.
I'm not sure what you are doing, some type of daily maintenance would be my guess, but I am sure you know what it is, and it really needs to stop. Fiind some other method of accomplishing whatever it is. This is one of my favorite times to be in game because of my work and RL schedule. I have heard others complain of the same issue. Please make an effort to solve this problem.
Thanks for your attention to this growing problem.

Indeed... I just teleported back to my guild ship from.... THE MIDDLE OF MENECHTARUN DESERT! while I was running to wiz-king...
And it kept reloading the ship... and took ages to reconnect after relogging.

2006 and this is your first post? I'm going to +1 you if I can because this is the single most annoying aspect of the game that I can't control. And its the same for a lot of other people.
Edit:Yes I could so there you go.

been going on for years and every day i say bloody hell...
could we get some kinda WARNING! THE GAME WILL BE KINDA SORTA BE PLAYABLE FOR A VAGUE PERIOD OF TIME IN 10 MINUTES. so i can log characters get my stuff out of the bank/mail and not bother looting much during that time. then a WARNING! SEMI PLAYABLE TIME HAS ENDED. so i can resume normal play.
Thanks for your comments everyone. It is nice to know that I am not alone on this issue.
Dred, I love your idea, while it does not solve the problem, we at least would know that Turbine knows the problem exists (much better than them just ignoring lag issues and blaming them on our systems as they usually do).
Lazy, thanks for the bump, I try to be patient, but this issue is really getting on my last nerve.
Dark, ya I have noticed issues with the guildship during this time as well, like going below and getting teleported to an instance of the ship that is totally empty and having to reboot my computer to fix it.

I work 12hr rotating shift work. When I gett off work 5:00am in the morning, I play sometimes to help me sleep better throughout the day. When I work these hours, I 'try' to play between 5:00am to 7-7:30am. Perfect timing for this ****...
This is annoying! Gawd! I want good performance 24/7. Work on it! Thanks for posting.

You forgot to mention bank lag, but Dredmantis covered you ;) And while his idea doesn't solve the problem, at least prevents people from experiencing it. Yes, i've been experiencing it, too, and it's very annoying.
At first i thought that maybe it's the time when the bulk of the Turbine employees get to work and that was the cause of this lag, but since it also happens on Saturdays and Sundays (i've witnessed that, too) it must be an automatic/mechanical everyday procedure...
The situation was even worse one day when i was in the harbor. Not only the mailbox, auctioneer, banker refused to do their job... but they were literally unable to do it... cause they were not even there :D ...not even the guy who sells hireling contracts... A lot of minutes passed before they were loaded into the scenery. At least that had a funny aspect besides the annoying one, and i took some weird screenshots of the harbor that day. :D
So....
Hey Turbine,
please make an effort to solve this problem.
