Devs..its the only fun run out there for 12 people, the rest are dedicated raids that are commonly a-retentive or full of 20th level twinks way over level...

It appears end game will be epic only. I might be interested in epic spine though.

epic maelstrom anyone?

or make the epic quests 12 people raids so we can just have a blast instead of a-retentiveness in them....
It's about fun....let's put that back in endgame.

"the first epic tempest spine run"

"hey, the lava is doing 100 points, get my stone"
"oh no, the elementals using 400 point delayed blast fireballs, RUN!!!!"
"okay, 5 made it, lets go get their stones, rogue - go sneak and get em"
"rogue: 'what you talkin' bout Willis?'"
"new guy who just entered: where are you guys at?"
"<ding> - new guy dies"
"where are you new guy?"
"I ran to get you and am dead near a shrine and a ton of giants"

It's definitely a fun quest with people who know what's going on. Not only do I think it could be made fun again, but different tactics I think would have to be worked out to make it a successful run. (Doubt you could just run through the lava to the entrance, etc)

Absolutely. TS needs more love; the new challenge and different playerbase would help greatly in increasing the fun.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I doubt we'll be seeing any F2P epics.

TS is still after all this time one of my favorite quest. I'm all for this...

If we're talking about f2p epics, Invaders would be great like someone suggested in some another thread. Ok, maybe it would be impossible for f2p players, but still.

I'd be fine with you needing to buy it as an adventure pack to access Epic (as long as it remains free on n/h/e). I assume it would be pretty cheap too.

Best constructed raid in the game. Most of the rest feel like a series of minigames or are so small design-wise as to barely count. I'd love to see a reason for experienced people to play it again. The PUGs are just too annoying to get the full effect.

3 words, epic weather effects... applied to the outside AND the end fight.

AND epic weather effects when you come out the side entrances on the mountain......
Making fire/ice like Von pillars and auto respawn in seconds.....
Putting spikes in the swim......

Instead of a barrage of requests for retooling existing quests as epic, maybe we could hold their feet to the fire and demand what we have forever now: more raids like Tempest Spine which don't require prerequisites, don't require any flagging, don't have any timer, and exist at the complete spread of levels from 1-20.

That we haven't gotten it so far is testimony to how easily everyone gives up, relaxes their pressure on Turbine, and lets them go their merry way in the end. The result is endless nerfs, ranting, then "oh, shiny" posts, then endless low to mid level quests that are only of use to multi-TR'd characters in need of XP without repeating the same content 90 times, more complaining about that, more "oh, shiny" nonsense... Now we're asking for retooling of really old content as Epic?

The ONLY thing that Epic has is that they just increase trap damage and difficulty, give blanket wards, immunities, and damage reductions, massive amounts of HP and stats, and that is all. NO RP story additions, no justifications for the same enemies you mowed down effortlessly at level 6 suddenly being able to wipe an entire party of level 20s in seconds, no additional reasonable challenges.

All you're doing now is encouraging them to do the exact same simple non-thinking that we've been complaining about since 2006. No creativity, no imagination, just increase some variables, deploy some more bugs, move on. Where does that get fun?

MMORPG folks. There's supposed to be SOME story-based justification for the way things happen, SOME creativity put into it. Tossing fish guys into a swamp that should be flush with persnickety kobolds from the next fen over, to harass elves/drow, while magically NONE of the mud monsters or vine creatures show up next door where they'd naturally roam to, that's stupid. But, that's what we've let them get away with.

It's like the insane nonsensical sewer and steam tunnel system of Stormreach. ONLY the Hazadill quest and Information is Key have any overlap, and that overlap only makes sense. If you accept that NONE of the other tunnels overlap, then all of the several million tons of rock and dirt the city sits on has been so completely undermined, it should collapse into the ground by now. It is a tropical city, with sub-hourly rain falls that should practically flood the place and cause spectacular waterfalls off the harbor cliffs, but no...

Like I said, no imagination or RP mindedness whatsoever, and now we're just encouraging that.
