Pulled a set the other day, I have a seal but of course no shard and trying to trade for a scroll. Anyhow just as a test I tried em out and neg lvl on a WF ? Having 2 slots on them is very desirable, the little curse and inflict effects seem kind of a waste though especially as I have many other guards, anyhow does anyone use these on their FB barbs and how do you like them? Just lookin for a little feedback

Now that most of the Epic items are known from the desert thought I would put together a list of items and my opinion on their worth for current endgame. Remember these are my opinions and further discussion or rampant disagreement is encouraged. If enough dissension over a rating occurs I will be glad to change. Keep in mind ratings are for endgame and many times a rating is established through comparison to other currently available end game items.

Rating system:

5: Great item coveted by most everyone in their class ie: caster/melee/healer. Usually having effects or combination of effects not currently available elsewhere in game.

4: Good item having broad usage throughout multiple different builds. Effects are usually available elsewhere but this item provides better slot usage for the effect or allows for item consolidation.

3: Great item for a small amount of builds otherwise pretty mediocre. Items effects are usually available elsewhere. Not usually something to grind for but if you come across the upgrade items while searching for others its usually something you can find a use for.

2: Poor item lacking use in most builds possibly useful in a rare build circumstance. Usually equivalent or better options were already in the game. Not worth grinding for and usually still not usable if you happen to come across the upgrade pieces.

1: Total trash item not usable by most everyone. Equivalent or better items existed and those items were rarely used.

* Epic Bracers of Demon's Consort - (Bracers) Demonic Curse, Demonic Shield, Demonic Retribution, Intimidate +15, Empty Colorless Augment Slot, Empty Yellow Augment Slot Intimidate is most likely useless on this item but the two slots are nice. I think a good upgrade to what I feel was already one of the most underated items in the game. *Edit: With intimidate imcreased to 15 it's a marginally better item but due to the chance to proc a neg lev I don't think this is your best place to get a +15 intim item rating stays the same. Rating: 3.5

Although the definitive loot thread doesn't say they have the hidden effect, it also doesn't say that they don't. LeLoric's item review is generally pretty solid, even though it doesn't specifically answer your specific question in regards to WF. Keep asking and searching around before you make any trades for that scroll

I have made an epic pair of these bracers, and they are petty cool, the curse affect works on any mob, including the epic biatch herself. The neg lvl also affects WF, even when made epic ;). i have tested exstensively. ;)

How often do you get hit? that is the question... :p

but yes, i'd say it procs roughly about the same as non epic, the bonus now tho...Neg lvls wear off over time, where as back in the day, you needed a cleric around to get you back to optimum lvl and effiency. :D:D:D

The bracers are better suited to a character that can self-cast/scroll Restoration to remove the neg level.

anyone can do that, its called the non epic Hammer of Life. My main character carries around two just for the consort bracers.

Hold on...... restoration gets rid of the level effect of the Taint of Evil? Or am I misunderstanding... because I have a marilith chain in the bank that I would wear if it didn't knock me down a level

the dq bracers can give you a neg level when you get hit, not neg from taint of evil

No, every time you are hit in melee.

What is this whole 1% thing... is it about the Chain or the Bracers?

If you are the wrong allignment the chain will give you a neg level.

While wearing the bracers, any time you are hit there is a 1% chance you will be given a negative level.
