sally and the orthons use healing curse lots. repairs aren't affected by it.

In VoD the tank who has the Boss' agro gets a healing curse on them. If you bring a WF tank you can just have a Wiz/Sorc repair them instead and bypass the curse.

They can, but it might take two or three to equal the awesomeness of a Warforged. Warforged are just far Superior to the breathers. Chuck Norris is a Warforged:D

Think the main reason is WF can be healed by Arcane casters. This is particulary usefull in raids like ToD and VoD because the big baddy casts curses that prevents you from getting healed by Divine casters.

Another reason is that WF have ways to increase hate generation, making them ideal tanks when the group doesn't have an intimitank.

One more benefit are the WF immunities to stuff like desease, poison, energy drain etc.

This being said I find the LFMs looking specifically for a WF tank funny. All the raids can easily be completed with a fleshy tank.

Once you play a WF melee, it's hard to play any other race. You keep thinking as you level up: My WF wouldn't have caught that disease/got poisoned; My WF wouldn't have been level drained by those wights; My WF wouldn't have died against those beholders; My WF wouldn't have been held and hacked to peices.

All of these challenges can by bypassed with other methods, but WF is just the easy button on SO MUCH stuff, I miss it on my Dorf Rogue I am currently running up after a TR.

My WF wouldn't be exhausted when rage wears off!
My WF would have more Constitution/hit points/fortification!

WF are excellent choices for:

THF Barbarians - DPS focused
THF Fighters - DPS focused

Their power attack enhancements and HP/Con enhancements make them a strong choice. The whole WF immunities thing is overrated. Any decently geared and well played toon after level 11 has all the same benefits.

The healing from Arcanes or Divine casters is a really nice perk and plays well in ToD and VoD as others have described.

It would be between WF and Dwarf as far as the optimal race for THF DPS melee, IMO. With Humans right there in the thick of it.

But for pure tank, I prefer a Human. Their extra skill points, feats, flexible stat boosts, human versatility, and healing amplification are all benefits on these builds. Especially if you are looking to Tank as a Barb or a Paladin DoS. The WF only gets a +1 to Con in these situations over the human.

TWF DPS Melees, the race selection becomes much more confused. WF, Dwarves, Humans, Elves all can be great there. A case can even be made for Halfings (even with a -2 to strength). Drow are probably the only really truly sub-optimal selection for a TWF DPS melee (unless you are going rogue as your class and rapiers as your weapons).

The questions is never "why warforged?", but instead "why NOT warforged?" ;)

... and I felt badly as our Slink egged on some of Khyber's top WF melee to go kill that ref named rustie in an epic snitch. ;) Talk about Uber toons being ripped up like a ragg doll stuffed full of hambuger to a starving wolf. :)

WF are easy buttons for most part as they do not need to consider much in the game, It is very easy to play a decent WF and look good... does not make you a better player or builder however, nor is WF superior in design as so much of the world is so so dependent on more than character - but gear and luck...

THIS! is entirely true... fact is last time I tanked sulu in tower on my Emili - a human DPS twf kensai - we had NO WF, Oh noes... however was easier then pie. In fact was one of the easiest runs I ever had in ToD... The relevance is knowing how to play. It freed up our only arcane to help deal with the trash more readily...

i.e. so many people love WF for tier PA enhancements when comes to DPS, but consider this take a human kensai max it's strength and top it to 42-44 before any boosts etc... dress it in a epic maralith chain, epic dusk heart and ravager/kensai sets... your total DPS come epic and many elite rivals the WF, fact be your extra feat may mean you stunning blow and kopesh where the WF has one of those you're a feat up on them, Or maybe you focus healing amp such that a clw keeps you up or how about UMD so you may scroll heal yourself after a fight when alone... WF may have immunities and may be slightly sturdier but not neccessarily the easy button in every case. As new gear and planning arround such entails much... and with every game change the sands shift in what each race/build may potentially achieve.

That is false. My WF barb(lvl20) has only been stunned maybe 3 times by rusties.
