View Full Version : Top 5 Most Fun Things You've Done in DDO

What are your top 5 most fun events you've participated in in DDO? One of my top 5s was very recent so this got me thinking about the others.
In no particular order:
1. Completing Epic VoN6 the day it came out. Figuring out the tactics was great fun and a big change from my normal gameplay where the most efficient tactics have already been worked out in detail.
2. Naked Tempest Spine - Watching level 20s fight over a Potency II scepter or a haste pot is pure gold.
3. Completing an Elite Shroud with my original guildmates. There's really no reason to run this on Elite other than for the challenge but we had a lot of fun.
4. Stealth soloing Monastery of the Scorpion on elite. It wasn't a perfect run (I had a re-entry) but it took a lot of tries and a bit of luck.
5. Stealth duo-ing Claw of Vulkoorim earlier this week with Shizmonkey. I absolutely love trying to figure out new tactics and this was a good one. It was also only the second or third time I've done small-group stealth tactics. It's a great departure from the "haste and firewall" approach we use for most quests.

1) back when cap was 10 (or 12?) I don't remember. But we did a level 4-7 tempest spine raid. I was a 4th level caster.
2) soloing elite invaders the first time...first. Then learning to speed run it.
3) figuring out with guildies how to do speed runs in fallen shrine and later trail by fire
4) ac tanking, especially sins of attrition. Kept me in the game
5) this was my first online 3d game. I have to say that first month just walking around and interacting with stuff was pretty wicked..still is. Amazing.

ill think of 4 more later, but
the first time i did caverns of korromar, it was a very well designed and challenging quest for a newbie. the first time facing a beholder when under-equipped is a riot. i think more enemies should have telekinesis or the ability to throw you around the room. mindflayers maybe

The little things like pugging a Shroud with my monk. Port into part 2 by myself and having the party leader say "your on your own!"( In a perterbed manner) As they buff up like it is EV6. Meanwhile I clear all the trash and am meditating while they come rushing in for the "big" fight, followed by "where is all the trash mobs?" Since I play with no mic-I sit back on my cowch at home and just smile! Now that is fun to me!

1. My first vons back in the day. Complete pug didnt know anyone but everyone was so nice to me made me really love the game.
2. My first drinking game night with Lost Legions- changed my life
3. The first time I let go and realized quests were more fun with laughter and jokes, think that night involved a lot of grease clickies and lava pulls :)
4. The first time I completed Epic Chain of Flames I was nervous brought my elven ranger rogue in there and we did it it was a feeling that I still have not matched now that epics is not new anymore but wow beating that quest, I still keep that token in the bank as a reminder.
5. The first time someone recognized me from the forums and realized "shes not as mean as she is on the boards." And said as much lol. That was fun for me for some reason.

1. Finally finding a charcter i enjoy so much, its hard to play other characters. A charcter that can alwasy be improved as I am always trying to inch more out of him.
2. The day I joined Madborn. Finally finding a guild that is layed back, relax and skilled. This took me 3+ years, but it is worth it!
3. The day I switched over to Thelanis. I found a server I feel at home with, that doesn't have too much drama, nor does it suck me into the drama! Thelanis you rock!
4. When I found out that I enjoyed playing with everyone within my guild and would help out anytime and mean it.
There is no more, those were all the fun moments as they are the most impressionable to me.

Making level 7 wizard (just a couple of days ago - i'm new to the game, obviously) and landing a maxed out critical hit fireball that did 224 damage - it was sweet!
Ahh I love the smell of burnt ogre in the morning.....

1. Flawless stealth run in Elite Monastery. No aggro, no kills (just the puzzle solving death), ... if memory serves it was during a loot weekend, to boot.
2. Drunken Shroud, Mystery Pull-style (on my WF Wiz/Rog). Grease and Sleet Storm city. There were a few pugs that must not have been informed of the "rules" because I kept getting asked to stop throwing grease. "More grease? Ok!"
3. My first Von 6. Who knew the game really had dragons in it? And that they were terrifying. And that the artwork on the sky was so awesome. And that these, combined with the music, could actually get my heart pounding.
4. Duo stealthing Claw. Nothing makes your heart race like watching a co-stealther move into a position that you are sure will put them in the path of a monster. It's even better when they squeak by unnoticed.
5. Trio stealthing Monastery. I took a few buddies through Monastery so we could compare stealth tactics. More stealthers make the job harder, but we had a blast laughing at our various mis-steps, foibles, and whatnot. We ran 3 or 4 in a row.

3. The first few weeks after I transferred to Sarlona and found it to
to be completely awesome.
4. Meeting the members of Twisted Fate and joining up.
5. Pulling a +15 intim ring as end reward for Weapons Shipment.
6. Respeccing a toon just to use the +4 anarchic burst longbow of
greater construct bane I pulled in the shroud. My flippin jaw dropped :)
Great thread op!

- Going out into Gianthold explorer area the day it came out. It was the first area with the now standard Slayer/Rare/Explorer objectives. I rememeber making it up to the Giant camp above Madstone...man we got our butts kicked. :)
- Dieing so many times when there was an XP penalty with it that I actually lost a level!
- Doing Enter the Kobold the day it came out. Thinking how easy this new quest was and that it only had the one kobold as a boss fight...how wrong we were. :)
- My first Velah, nuf said!
- Taking a good friend of mine on an explorer run through the desert. Trouble was I was on my monk and he was on his cleric...I am still paying him back for all the haste pots he drank.

1. First ever Von 2 run. It took about 10 runs before I could run that without my heart pounding and fearing the fall into oblivion that would fail the quest.
2. Stealthing the Giant Cave chests when you could still open them without killing everything and it was a decent loot run.
3. Getting Blooded in the Tor.
4. Taking a header off of the Lighthouse in Ataraxia's Haven
5. First run through STK with the THACO gang 4 years ago!
Cheers.

Sneaking around the Subterrain with Ghoste....on my lvl 12 Rog. Poorly equiped and defined the word squishy.
finding the Council of Beholders. And knowing if I got seen I would be one shotted in a heartbeat. Yet I healed, rezed, retreaved stones from a river of acid....and stayed out of sight and alive during the whole long fight.
None of my other chars have that rare/explorer, and I do not even know how to get back there.
It opened my eyes to stealth in a big way, and remains one of the most fun things I ever did.
And it was a privilage to learn from the master.....
I've since taken my mage and a couple people to sneak around down there....and awed them with the few tricks I could remember that he taught me then...
Doing the Shroud with a guild that ragged on my build the whole time (in a good natured way) Then getting the killing stroke in on Harry at the end....with a bow! Lol.
Ironic that I got to post that in party chat after enduring all those comments. :)
A later almost failed Shroud with DoctorWhoFan. I got to rez her twice. Everyone had almost given up, but without SP she scrolled healed an awesome tank who allowed us to pull off a victory.
I actually got the killing stroke in again (witha bow) with only 14HP left......
Which during the celebrating, I discovered was Madstone HP... as they wore off... lol.
A long time ago in Maze of Madness with I think four clerics and no real tank. So untraditional they way we took things down.
Elite Coal Chamber run with Eriik and company. Back when the cap was 16 and everyone hated that quest. We had like Four Rangers, and one bored cleric who still had half his mana the first time we reached the Shrine.
Elite Ghostes of Pardition with Eriiik's crew. No cleric. Again Rangers made it easy.
Just about anytime I've been in a ranged heavy party.
Anytime I've been in a group with a large number of one class...if I was one of that class.
The hardest, drawn out, turning defeats into victory quests have been the most fun in general.
First day of a new mod, with new high lvl content..... been awhile. But that is when my char has felt the most powerful.
Guess that is more than five....

1) First time seeing the dragon in Korthos up close in Misery's Peak. And then watching it move under the ice. And the end sequence. I *still* stop and watch one of those three periodically when running MP. Similarly, seeing the dragon fly over Marketplace. I couldn't get an angle of view that would let me get the screen shot in, which was frustrating. But it was a gorgeous sight. There are actually several cool environmental things like that: the first time seeing an airship fly by overhead, the big rainbow over harbor one evening, and the vapor rising from my armor when rain hits it all come to mind.
2) First Delara's run, on elite, with a very experienced dwarf cleric leader on my dwarf cleric. That was so much fun. I think every single character in there had a summons, including one with the massive drow scorp hybrid and the leader pulling in earth elementals. Plus a sorc with wall of fire. In the multi-sarcophagus rooms, the lead cleric would stack us all in the doorway and then take off with an axe, breaking all the sarcophogai and running all the aggro'd skellies back to the doorway, where they would stand in a wall of fire and be battered by effectively a 12-man party due to the mass of summons. If memory serves, at one doorway we mowed down about 30-count of enemies in two minutes or less without moving; that was hilarious fun. That was also the first big quest where I got to play a total healbot, down to the point of the leader offering advice on where to stand in various rooms so as to heal without getting attacked. Blasting through healing spells to pull three party members almost simultaneously from the edge of death and not losing a one of them was exhilarating. I think the only death we had that whole run was one guy who hit connection trouble and was out of healing range and unable to move when some mobs spawned. Besides being a fun experience in general, the leader taught me that it was okay for a healbot to do almost nothing but stand around waiting to heal folks. Up till then I tended to try to fight and heal simultaneously. Realizing I could stand out of the way and heal and not get yelled at for not fighting was liberating!
3) Rescuing a party wipe with my warforged wizard on Bounty Hunter Elite. We had just gone through on normal, and I had gotten enough XP to level as had one other person. So we split up to bio breaks, repair and sell, and leveling. I went all the way to marketplace to find a wizard trainer and dump off a bit of collectibles to free inventory space while I was there, so I was the furthest away from the quest and also taking time for picking my new level stuff. One party member opened the quest before everyone was back, and apparently started off on it. This resulted in others jumping in when they arrived at the quest and saw it already open, and therefore trickling into a quest where the mobs were already active and getting picked off by mob swarms one by one. As the farthest away, it took me a while to get back, so by the time I was arriving at the questgiver again the rest of the party had all died and people were adding warnings in party chat and discussing whether to restart. The battle had moved far enough from the entrance that I was able to zone in without immediate aggro. So in I came, summoned a skeletal knight and an earth elemental, buffed up all my prepped buffs and charged in. I proceeded to have a pulse-pounding running, dodging, jumping, firewalling, suggestioning, blasting, self-healing battle with a dozen enemies, managed to collect all the stones but couldn't stand still long enough to figure out where the shrine was. Finally got taken down in the bottom of a hole after killing off a little better than half the enemies, but incapacitated rather than killed. So I lay there and watched my skelly kill off a couple of enemies on the steps, and die from archers, but not without having cleared out the enemies that had line of sight on me. Was a long wait for that -6 health to regen while I used the time to check the map for where the shrine ought to be, but once it finally did, self-heal bonanza again, self-buff again, raise fresh summons and out of the hole I came spamming suggestion and running to open the shrine door. Which I managed to get open without dying. I did die once in the ensuing fight against the enemies around the shrine, but we managed to clear them and get everyone revived and healed up and ready to go onwards. We did have a total party wipe near the end that resulted in two of us rezzing out and then coming back in on a stone run before completion, but that didn't detract from the fun. :D
4) Misery's Peak elite on my first elven monk. I was either level 2 or 3, probably 3. I joined an in-progress run with a group of other lowbies, and ran through an empty dungeon up to the ramp room. I was met at the bottom of the first ramp by a steady stream of ice spiders, as the rest of the party was already past that room. Dispatched those in a tight little fight, then ran on in search of the rest of the party again. As I ran, the party members started dying, and I finally came into one section to meet a last survivor barely alive and running past me with 8-10 zombies and cultists following behind him. One of them got him just as I was arriving, so I jumped right in with my monk, fully expecting to be dead in short order. What followed was probably no more than 90 seconds I guess, even though it felt like several minutes, of frantic moving and button mashing as my surrounded monk took on all comers. He was so surrounded at that point that I couldn't throw an attack without hitting something, so my fire stance ki was going wild and I pretty much threw nothing but ki strikes for most of the fight simply because I was getting so many hits I was generating constant ki. ;) Managed to survive with only a few hp left, and stealthed my way through to grab everyone's stones and regroup them back at the nearest shrine.
5) Suggestion is one of my favorite spells on my warforged wizard. He's actually a Pale Master, but I get decent results with Suggestion as long as I'm not running a really strong quest. But the most fun I had with it was a run of Redwillow's Ruins. Troll fights become very interesting when you use suggestion to charm a troll or two from outside their spot range, as their heavy damage is not nearly as effective against each other. They'll wail away a while swinging and grunting while you pick them off one by one, if everything times out right. The grand finale, though, was casting suggestion on multiple giants in the end mission. At one point I had the giant boss fighting against 4 of his own soldiers. :> Watching two giants hurl boulders at each other or trade earthquake stomps is very fun.

We were once bored and waiting outside of a DQ and one of my guildies decided to start dancing (human male). He commented about how cool his dancing was, so I, being on my WF, went up and started dancing, mixing up dance1 and dance2 with some spell casting in the middle. I stopped and did /point after hearing him say "oh Rtwo going all fancy now" and said as soon as the point animation finished, "You got served!" The whole raid just started ballin and making fun of him for the rest of the raid as he tried to come up with something to say as a comeback.
It was great as every time I saw the guildie in town after that I would chase him around town and start dancing by him every time he'd stop somewhere. This usually made him start teleporting all around town to get away from me, and being a guildie, I could see EVERYWHERE he went to, so I'd teleport after him and start chasing him down for like 15 mins (*Queue Benny Hill music :D ) until he'd send me a tell asking me to stop or I'd stop and go do something else :p

1. Greasing the first ramps outside the ledges on Tempest Spine.
2. Falling down with the same grease, after laughing at the people who fell down miserably.
3. Greasing the same people again during Sorjek's final fight.
4. Intentionally saving the annoying griefer (me) and jumping off the top of Tempest Spine during Sorjek Battle, then throwing the said griefer's stone (me) precisely down to the deep lava pits.
5. Reentered the same raid after releasing, only to fall down (because I was in barb haste) again on the deep lava.
This is a guild run BTW. No PUG experience were harmed in the making of this fiasco,.

1. Our first elite velah kill when cap was 10. There was two points when only the rogue was left kiting mobs aound the bases and throwing rez's. No hero method just all went in and beat on her. One cleric stayed in the pit and rezzed.
2. 4 manning Epic velah. Time really started to become a factor and we killed her with about 2 min to spare.
3. Old school TS runs when the ac of blackguards was really high. Naked TS runs at lev 10 cap (this originated with our guild the lucky knights)
4. Solo elite bastion on my rogue. 25 min run.
5. Going for first shroud kill on ghallanda when i was leader of The Iron Phalanx when our ranger and sorc were all that was left up no rez's and sorc ran out of pots and ranger out of arrows. Harry was at just a sliver of life. We wiped and Katet got the first kill about a half hour later.

1) 6AM Hiding in Plain Sight on Elite, when the level cap was 12, with a couple of friends. We wiped on Hazadil and his sidekicks 2 times. By the 3rd try his sidekicks were dead, it was just Hazadil left, but he kept hitting us with Dancing Ball, and we kept dancing and he kept healing himself, so we could never get enough DPS to take him down. We wiped on the 3rd try.
4th try we went back all prepared to just take Hazadil down. But he kept doing the same thing, whole party was dancing while he healed himself, wed beat him down, then dance, then hed heal...
Finally after about 10 minutes of beating him down and dancing a lot, we got him to 10% health and we knew victory was in sight. Hazadil gave up fighting, and just started danceing!! Really, he just gave up the fight, and began to dance while we beat him to death. Hahaha!
- - - I have no idea if Hazadil really did start to dance, or if I and my party mates began to hallucinate due to lack of sleep and exhaustion cos wed been at it for like 2 hours. But we all saw it, all saw Hazadil dancing as we clobbered him. We laughed sooo much! :D
2) Chain of Flame for the very first time with my level 11 Fighter and a skillful cooperative party, back in December 2006. Was just awsome!
3) Getting head-butted off the fallen pillar bridge at the beggining of Stormcleave by a Minotaur - with Featherfall on - and flying for miles!!
4) Decideing 2 weeks ago that I actually want to use Epic Kunderak Warding shield on my Defender of Siberus Paladin - being quite concerned that I was gonna have to do 100 Epic Von 6's to ever get the Shard. Then last night totally drunk, awsome party with loads of DPS - Flawless Victory - looted the Shard of the Epic Kunderak Warding Shield!!
5) Seeing Zared Mightyhoof (Tha mad dual greataxe wielding Minotaur Lord boss in Gwylans Stand.) charging towards my level 7 fighter with madness in his eyes, ready to cut me in half. I side-stepped and hit him with Improved Trip and watched him fall flat on his face. lol :D
And many many more... :) Hehe
To Duke-H:
Shortman SoS on hard with 1% left on the storm giants health when timer expires.
That was me, you and Kit, Right? :D lol

1. My very first quest on Argonesson with a guild called "Rulers of Riedra." They were so much fun I had to join the guild.
2. Running Coal Chamber when it first came out. Everyone died except for my Ranger, who picked up stones and somehow made it to the alter. Took around three hours to complete. ;)
3. Meeting some awesome people. :p
4. Almost party wiping during first shroud run. It was up to a barbarian named "Zak" to save the day. :D
5. A different shroud run (PUG), where all died in part four except my ranger who saved the day (with his bow). :)

1. First time tanking elite VoD. I was Lvl 18ish and not really geared for it, but the group was VERY good and very experienced and wanted me to do it as a "baptism by fire". Everything went great, and the feeling of Standing toe-o-toe with Sulu was pretty neat. Of course now I am always happy when someone else tanks him, I got a little tired of having his ugly face all up in my grill.
2. Hitting lvl 6 and choosing Kensei for my PrC. Not all that big a deal now, but that was my first real goal for my character and I was thrilled to get to it.
3. Crafting my first epic item (Epic Noxious fang) simply because it was my first, and that is no small feat considering that several of the others I want are currently broken

heh, can't remember a lot of my fun/funny times....
Number 1 has to be my first few reaver's, it felt soo intense.
Number 2 would probably be my gimped up rogue/paladin UMD trap monkey who danced through the traps in Slavers and then couldn't open the door at the other end...
Number 3 would be duo'ing Tor with 2 wizards, not amazing but the first time I'd duo'd a decent quest..

Probably the funniest (or atleast most memorable thing) was in Vale, did Rainbow in the dark and one of our group members went afk (for a good reason) before the pittrap-jump-part before the boss.
Took a long time before we finished and he/she didnt come back. Recalled out.
Then he/she popped back and found him/herself inside Rainbow, pitch dark standing near the jumpy pittrap thingy.
Guided him/her through it from Meridia via party chat on the first try (it was hes/hers first or second time in there) and he/she got the piepiece and ing from the boss chest. And this was after the change in the quest where you couldnt use options to make surrounding visible there anymore
Then i realized that i have done it way too many times :D

1) Running my 14 Turning Build Drow Cleric as solo-healer in shroud, at level cap 16. Hit the wrong button and up popped a giant pumpkin head above the boss in part 4. Everyone stopped, stood there, and I said "What did you guys do?" Their response was perfect... the barbarian in the party said "I think you turned his alive undead arse!" Still cracks me up to this day.
2) All Cleric run of Shroud, at release, thinking that Blade Barrier kiting was the best bet to beat him at the end.
3) 4 Manning Abbot, No Firewall, no healer...
4) Solo'n the Judge in ToD Part 1 on a Dark Side Monk, while the entire party minus a healer, was beating on the Jailor, and being asked to bring the Judge over only to say "He's already dead" Silly barbarians.. DPS is for MONKS.
5) Soloing "Invaders" on Elite, with a level 10 Warforged Monk, Dark Path, with a Deathblock Docent, and a set of Paralyzing handwraps.
Wait wait wait, I gotta add this one
6) Elite VoD ~ BYOH ~ No Healing Others
We had FvS's, Clerics, Warforged Casters and even a Bard... but you could not heal other people, only yourself.
The kick in the pants part... ALL the mobs had EPIC WARD. On Elite.. couldn't use Vorpals on trash mobs...
It was FUN. I don't think i've ever laughed so hard at the comments coming from the party members in my life. It was great.

1: Running a level 20, 7-man run of von5 elite
2: Pugging VoD elite
3: Pugging Shroud elite
4: Questing with friends
5: Stacking my Rahkir's sash Sup efficacy VIII, maximized, empowered fully unlocked elemental enhancements and the 100% spell damage bonus from the eardweller and hitting Harry with polar ray for over 1750 damage.

1. an organised event held in the forum-like structure near gwylans stand (some years ago now).
2. devil invasion.
3. first smokin hot elf chick competition.
4. server race to unlock the sub (well at least i think that was what we were racing for) and subsequent attempts at vod and hound.
some of these may have been ghallanda only.

1.) Seeing the advertisement for F2P while reading 8-bit theatre.
2.) Creating my first character (who was gimped beyond belief of course)
3.) Buying the warforged race and rolling Priam (also gimped the first time, but I managed to get him to Lv 9)
4.) Joining Bregan D'Wintere
5.) Being the only person that didn't die in Caverns of Korromar and then soloing the Beholder when everyone else wanted to rez out and try again.

1. Finding the game. My first and only MMO. I did not know what MMO even was.
2. Learning the game. Ran at first with other players, now mostly a soloist. I am in my own guild.
3. Building characters that can be soloists. I delete some, then try again. Once i have a build I like, I then start all over on another server with my new gained knowledge and start all over but with a better build than I had before. My first server was ghallanda and most of my characters there are built incorrectly.
4. Velah, the first time you see her. My first run was on elite also, in a PUG, Level cap 14, I was level 10 or so. As the cleric I was told to go to one spot and just raise people. Boring for me. But I was able to see her breathing fire and thinking, "Now, that is a dragon." Just about any raid the first time is pretty cool.
5. The kindness of a few players that offsets the evilness of a majority of players. As my cleric, at 7th level being given feather falling boots because I would follow all the other players all the time, but I did not have any FF items so I would just jump and heal myself. They finally took pity on me and gave me FF boots. That was awesome to no longer dread jumping and wondering if I would die. Level cap was 14 and feather fall items were RARE. One player gave me a stack of raise dead scrolls, a 100 stack of Mnemonic 9 potions(how long did it take to get those?) There was no DDo store in those days.

1) 3 Manning Velah, back when cap was 12. Man was that one fun.
2) Breaking the final pillar that hit the titan, seeing his shield go down, and being in the first guild/group on Tharashk/Thelanis that saw the titan fall.
3) Invaders Elite with a PuG, right after my guild collapsed and disbanded, making four new friends that I haven't stopped running with since, giving me a new guild and solid people to play with for a change.
4) Level 4 TS group with the aforementioned friends; killing the giant was particularly fun.
5) Against the Demon Queen Entrance Warforged Grease Surfing. That hill is awesome.

1) The first time I saw Velah on module 1 (Cap at level 10). Followed by that, the first time I did the pillar run on von6, and the first time I intimidate Velah and complete the raid.
2) The first time we did 6 man ADQ. All the people already said that was imposible (level 12 cap). We did it. After that, at level 14 cap, we duo'ed her.
3) The first time solo'ed Reaver elite. I remember running it with Rammstein music. I'll never forget that (Level 14 cap).
4) Farming South Threnal (at the very beggining for the rewards), and farming East Threnal (both at level 10 cap) on elite, running down down to the shrine, blocking the renders on the door, and casting Cloudkill until they were dead.
5) The first time I ran Relic on elite when the level cap was at level 10. Pure madness. The chests were bugged giving at level 10, like +3 vorpal weapons. The first time was like 3 hour quest.

1.the low road (first quest i did in this game)
2. the first time i did finding the path in the inspired quarter, best quest ever great music, background, and scenery
3. trying to solo the inevitable on elite in the jungles of kyber after the cleric got to close. running around chugging a haste pot, then chugging heal pots while out of his reach, not realizing he was healing just as fast lol went through 60 hastre pots and 167 cure serious beforei died and we failed, but was stil lone of the most fun things ive ever done
4. laughing when someone thougth they was funny and wanted to grease people into traps was the first to fall and die

1. first time kiting tod part 2 with the chinese and all i got in party chat was "firewall stairs and run"
2. pulling litany of the dead first ever abbot run and not really knowing it was amazing xD
(i have a screenie of a successful abbot with 37 deaths! :D FUN)
3. EPIC DRAGONS! still get butterflies, every time
4. first ever TR gimp rogue to monk and realising im gonna play this game forever

4. Attempting to solo Tower
5. 2 man hound on hard (at cap 16)

1. Using Assassinate on my rogue for the first ever time and never wanting to come out of sneak mode ever again.
2. Being rewarded from my icy games runs with lots of recipe 5's and making so much profit in the space of a couple of hours I went on the AH and bought every single item my monk needed, and them made myself a Superior Glaciation IX item for my sorcerer.
3. The first tiem I bit the bullet and joned a PUG. In hindisght it was obviously 5 other people who all knew each other and were probably chatting in vent until I joined. Wandered through Jungle of Khyber and watched the group zerg/window/repeat the quest. I got more xp in an hour or two than I'd ever imagined possible. Seeing the tactics for the end elementals and marut was a big eye openeer for me - although they've now changed that quest. Made me realise that while soloing is fun, you can pick up a lot from veteran players and can find really nice and helpful people in PUGs, and find new interesting ways to deal with certain parts of the game.
4. Jumping off the lighthouse in Ataraxia on my monk, and plummetting down really fast only to realise I had accidentally turned my slowfall off. Hitting the ground hard taking precisely ZERO damage. That was a rush.
5. Doing my first Shroud run on my rogue in my guild and getting the final blow on Harry. Up until then I was begining to think maybe my rogue was going to have to be rerolled, my guildies helped me realsie that it isn't the build that matters, but the player.
My Most Amusing Moment:
The first time I put a haggle item on to buy a cure potion from a bartender after rezzing out of a quest only to realise that it replaced my health item and I died again. Still to this day I do this. I still laugh.
Most importantly for me though is probably this:
Trying to solo VoN Arena quest on my rogue for Elite favor, only to realise I couldn't kill the end troll fast enough. Put up an LFM in the slim hope of someone coming in to help. Not only do I get a response, but I get to hear a beautiful womans voice come over the voice chat, bring in her FvS, zerg to the end boss (which I am madly kiting around with little HP's left), and pretty much 1 shot it with a spell. Proceed to chat with her about the game for several minutes, then get invited to a founders guild, when I was pretty much happy to just solo this game. Best and most crucial moment ever in my DDO life. Really amazing people in the guild. Best day in DDO. Still learning so much from them, and enjoy the crazy talks and fun we have in ventrilo while questing.

Well there have been many over the last 4+ years. Here are some of the highlights.
1) Naked Tempest Spine runs - These are always the most fun.
2) Soloing Coal Chamber with my Fvs and Wizard
3) My first Epic Velah - I still think this is the most enjoyable raid in the game, mostly to do with the graphics but you can add in the fact it's not just a beatdown...there is strategy involved - you could say the same about the titan raid too :)
4) Joining my first guild - IFV - I learned so much from those folks :)
5) Playing with a drunk Trankton :) - For those who've had this pleasure you know what I mean :) Scars drunk is a lot of fun too :)

Letterman style:
5: Seeing Hordo get tossed off von 6, 8-10 runs straight pre-mod 2! Not sure if he's yet to complete a von 6.
4: Back when WF could drown, a WF decided to /sleep + afk on rocks next to water on sorrowdusk isle. Someone cast grease and he slid off the rocks into the water where he drowned whilst being afk. He was angry when he got back, lemme tell you.
There was something about the WF sliding on his back into the water that makes it memorable to this day. :p
3: Finally beating the Abbot (Thnx Aussie, you rock!)
2: All of the wonderful people I have met here, from way back on Aundair to present day.
1. My first run with Emili through Litany. Getting to know her since then has led to some of my greatest experiences in DDO. She is a true friend like no other.
Thank you for everything Emi, youre the best. :o

Wow, there are alot.. I'm old my... My memory is failing :D
1. 1st Elite Shroud completion..... About 4 weeks after release.. Only 2 in party had done it on hard and about 3 more had even completed part 5. The rest of us hadn't even seen part 5... No greensteal, barely any really good weapons at all. It was long 4 hours , it was hard, LOTS of deaths and naked toons in part 5... But we got it done on the first try. And no "fancy tactics" It was a clean completion... Longest, hardest single quest I've ever run.
2. The lava dive... Not long afer I first started playing, we were in BAM, and we were 1 person from a wipe.... The one guy that was left alive Karl was his name, had this great idea.. He was going to drag all the Duergar into the lava pit. So as I stoodd watching in my ghostly form, he dove into the lava pit, and here come all the Duergar... LOL they stopped at the ledge looked at him, turned and walked away... I still crack up to thsi day...
3. My first vorpal pull from BAM... Pre-Mod 4 so they were still the shizbot...
4. 1st Titan completion... None of us knew it... Not many were completing it.... It was long and hard, back then... It was the nerf version after BCB beat the older version with er um "tactics". Oh the days when equipment was hard to come by.... It made the game so much harder.. So much more fun...
5. Late night ToR loot runs with the BCB boys... Always a blast back then.. Some funny **** I think Mod 4 days were the overall funnest times for me in DDO.

some things i did that i enjoyed;
1. first time doing a /poke and run. Me and my brother just picked a random person, /poke then ran, got the giggles :P
2. first time doing a dancing sphere on an orc.. funny.
3. going into vale of twilight having just got it, thought wow, great scenery :)
4. finally managing to complete tempest spine..... at lvl 16...

5) Soloing Wrath of Flame on a THF fighter on hard with just cure serious pots ... This goes on the bottom of my top 5 ... but it was fun ... used only 50 pots and beat the mission in under 10 mins solo ... also completed on a monk which is not as impressive as a no ac fighter cause my monk rarely gets hit until its on elite ..
4) Soloing New Invasion ... on hard .. with a monk ... Yeah i know some can do it on hard and elite with favored souls ... and others on there rangers using cheeze tact like blade barriers and running ... or many shot and running .. Yeah i went toe to toe with the guy on a melee ... a mission i had before thought was stupid because of hero method ... now i find kind of fun and still a bit of a challenge ... more so on hard where traps really hit ... well ... hard. Still hate the mission and only reason this is posted so low.
3) First two man reaver raid elite that was alot of fun ... just my monk and a caster and we did quite well .. next attempt is solo with monk ... hope i have the dps to pull it off ..
2) hitting 20 runs of TOD on a dark monk .... really the great acomplishment feeling happened because i had hit over 40 on all other raids and TOD was just a nice topper ... especially since dark monks are "less" popular in that raid then light monks.
1) NOT PLAYING THE GAME....
yup best thing i ever did in this game was stop playing .... I found out about other cool mmos that are coming out soon like FF14 and DC:U ... also SWToR reported to be next spring ... I beat dragon age and many other cool games i kind of put on the shelf while building up my monk and fighters to where i wanted them to be.
so by far not playing this game was the best experience i have had with this game in the last 4 years by far.
look for ward to repeating this for a much longer period november 2nd ... when DC universe comes out ... maybe forever :) ... for sure closer to forever once SWToR comes out.

1) Joining my guild in 2006 and still being there 4 years later.
2) In 2008 "stealing" the leadership of my guild from our founding leader while poking fun at her in ICQ about doing it.
3) Regular low man raiding with random group makeups, just because we can :D
4) The countless number of stories you've gathered from the years of playing and can't wait to tell over & over again just because they're too funny not to share.
5) The many, many moments in the game where things go horribly wrong, attempting to recover from it and win or lose you still have fun trying !

Well, either fun or thrilling:
1. Coming from another game, and going through a dungeon for the first time, and actually finding that a Rogue is USEFUL!
2. Doing Delara's for the first time and having a group filled with PnP D&D people, and hearing Gary Gygax voice! Having non-stop discussion throughout the quest chain as we toasted him again and again.
3. Seeing the Dragon at the end of VoN for the first time.
4. Going through STK old style and kicking the boss after x attempts!
5. Finding our guild name at the Founder's memorial.
