Large Mats drop Amrath

Couldn't find any info on this; maybe somene knows:

Doing Sins in Amrath, anyone know the chances of Large Mats dropping ?
And whether (and how) casual or normal affects the drop rate ?

They can drop in some chests in Amrath. I don't know the correlation between difficulty, size(small, medium, or large ingredients), and quests. I can tell you that it isn't worth the time to try to farm these quests for them instead of the Shroud. If you happen to get a few while farming for boot ingredients, great. Otherwise, go back to grinding the Shroud.

I don't think anyone can give you a clear cut percentage.

I run sins all the time. Hit up all 5 chests when I can, 4 chests when the badge end chest is on ransack. I'd say I pull a large maybe 1 in 20 chests? Around 5% maybe? Might be a bit lower.

I've gotten rich off the trash loot, I run it every day at least once. I pull a few larges a week, the drop rate ain't great but it can be solo'd or shortmanned.

Amrath would get run a lot more if they upped the %, particularly for scales:)

While farming shrould seems more likely to land you a large on part 4 it seems there's people who can farm sins and get a large after enough tries.
No idea what would be faster, since the chest on part 4 on the shroud don't guarantee a large either.
That'd be until ransack of course, then you can go complete for the chest on part 5.

I used to farm shroud but now just run it for completion every time. Comparing farming Sins to farming shroud (assuming you have a character who can solo sins and hit all the optional chests in 20 min or less), I would say that solo farming sins is easier than farming shroud and recalling out at the end. You don't have to wait for a group to fill, and the speed of your farming is not dictated by the skill/equipment of your group. If you really wanted to farm for large ingredients fast I'd say

1. farm Shroud 3x, on the 4th complete (repeat every 3 days)
2. farm Sins roughly 24 times or so; 8 times on the badge, 8 times on two other items on the table whatever is easiest for you, I'd recommend lute and ham (repeat every 7 days)
3. farm new invasion 8 times killing all the rednames you come across for optional chests (repeat every 7 days)

2 and 3 can be done solo in 20 minutes and under. Running amrath will net you lots of vendor trash as well as boot ingredients which you can trade/sell for large ingredients as well.
