Anyone know what the actual bonus speed that monks have when fighting unarmed? In particular, how does it differ from a monk fighting with Quarterstaff, kamas or (if they can) long/short swords.
I'm guessing 10%... but that's a wild guess.....

Hmmm... I wonder what a good way to test that is. Can anyone with a monk and access to a training dummy try it out? That seems like the way to go.... I've got the monk, but no dummy. I guess the easiest test is unarmed vs. dual kamas to keep dual wielding consistent.
The best would be if there is some /date or /time available in the chat window. Get to pounding, then run that command. A bit before the thing dies, run it again, and scroll up and count.
If anyone can think of a mob my lvl 4 clonk can beat on for long enough with either of us dying I'll give it a shot... but it does seem like a mission for an airship dummy.

From the dps calculator Stormarcher was using (likely it was Absolute_Omniscience's?), the unarmed attack rate was 114/minute while two-handed fighting was 89/minute, IIRC. That's a 28% speed increase with the wraps. Unfortunately, I was comparing wraps with qstaffs and didn't look at the 2-weapon fighting numbers.
Cheers,

That can't be right.... even a lowbie TWF'er should be 40% faster than a THF'er.
It has to be better than 28%. Unless you were only measuring main-hand on the unarmed attack somehow....

12.5% innate speed is the number I have seen used most often.

Per Eladrin on 9/17/09 (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=2418836#post2418836):
"All weapon styles should have the same number of main hand attacks per minute if you stand there holding down the attack button. (Except monk unarmed combat, which is around 10-12% faster. Flurry of blows!)"
