if both builds were specced out similarly, which of the 2 builds would be more effective at soloing, survivability and self sufficiancy?

in terms of particular builds i'm comparing is as the following:

"Solar Phoenix"
Human
Paladin HotD 12 / Monk FoL 7 / Fighter 1
( uses healing amp w/ whirling steel strike to fight w/ longswords )

*VS*

"Pure Light Side Monk"
Human
Monk 20
( basic pure monk that uses fists of light to heal itself )

The phoenix is a tougher character in that it has healing spells, lay on hands, more HP, and higher saves and wand use. (but looses out on DR)

The pure monk does better base damage and gets some fun special monk abilities.

The champion has some burst damage bonuses and can use green steel well which has 30% of the healing amp. The pure monk has to go without greensteel to take advantage of its unarmed combat and looses out on some healing amp (Not sure that really matters a lot for practical purposes)

HOTD has ghost touch and immunity to negative energy.

But mostly... if you are going pure monk, its hard not to go dark path since the DPS is so much better and DPS is the main reason you would go pure monk over phoenix.

Mind you I have not played a pure light monk to 20, not even close. I do have a Phoenix based build Paladin 15, Monk 3, Fighter 2 It is a very tough character, although I wish he had another 30AP to spread around, hard choices have to be made on the Phoenix builds.
