Since I'm f2p, and pretend to stay like that for some more time(I'm thinking of becoming p2p, maybe this year), I don't have acess to posting on builds, and i've searching for some help, reading threads for like, 2 hours.
My question is about rogue. I'm trying to do a mechanic. I've read somethings interesting, some that i disagree and some that i could not understand.
I'm chaotic good.
I don't intent to solo. My intention is to be failproof in DD, and to unlock most doors and chests on a few tries, if not at first. Apart from that, i want the most damage i can do, but just because for now, i don't see any other great use. I don't intent to multi class, but just one reasonable reason and this goes apart. I like the repeating xbow, and pretend to continue using it. But i don't know what weapon enchatment I should be looking for.
I've got the drow, and as drows get int and dex, i made the mechanic as a drow.
Right now, my char is lvl7.
My initial Stats are:
str: 8
dex: 18
con: 8
int: 20
wis:8
Cha:10
I've selected as feats:
Point blank shot
Skill focus: Disable Device.
I pretend to use the feat exchanger to take PBS out, but i wonder qhat should i go for. I've been thinking in improved critical.
Got the mechanic enchatment, all the stats(+3dex for now), and wrack construct.
So I wonder, if super maxing wouldn't be a waste of resourcers, a guy posted that 10 ranks in open lock and u can open almost locks in the game. I wonder if DD works the same, and the others.
I have ranks in everything maxed, except for:
Concentration
Diplomacy
Haggle
Heal
Intimidate
Jump
Perform
I wonder if diplomacy should'nt have some.
So, if u can help, give some tips or anything like that, i should be very thankful.

Im sad, buti have to inform you that you are in need of a lesser reincarnation.
Once you hit Gianthold+ content, Rogues with a CON of 8 are not playable. You will die. A lot. All the time in not particular dangerous fights. So much people will notice you and spread your name as a gimp --> You will find it harder and harder to get regular groups. And get zero chance to raid with the raiding community once you performance got known. :(
Rogues are squishy by nature. It is their single biggest weakness and needs to be fought every chance you get.
If you simply stop fighting monsters, your even worse kind of reputation as a piker will spread even faster. :eek:
Traps are a side aspect of being a Rogue. Many quests simply dont have any. And in most others it is not necessary to disable them, simply nice for the extra XP.
Your character is over-specialized! You need to be at least competent in killing.
Solution:
Strength 14
Dexterity 16 (level ups here)
Constitution 14
Intelligence 16
Wisdom 8
Charisma 10
Feats:
* Toughness
* TWF
* ITWF
* GTWF
* Power Attack
* Weapon Finesse
* SF: Disable till you get good gear.
-- Dual-wield Rapier and Shortsword.
-- Have potions of Fox Cunning and Heroism at hand for tougher traps.
-- Shooting is throwing cotton balls. Melee is where a rogue messily tears up his enemys when his friends have aggro.

Thanks for the help, but i really don't pretend to go melee. I had my toughts that I would need a reincarn, or simply deleting and redoing.
Any help with feats for repeater?

if u have low hp try going with a dwarf character instead they have the highest hp and use items with false life so that youll have higher hp and use the aid spell to add additional temporary hp to your character, ull be short and fat but u will live longer but hey its a game and its a good one so word to the wise get a dwarf

As Noctus said, you are way, waaaay overspecialized. Not all quests have traps or locks that need a rogue's attention, and even then, I can't recall a lot of quests that have traps as the centerpiece. During those downtimes, you're going to want to find some way to contribute.
Have at least 10 STR so you aren't rendered helpless with a single Ray of Enfeeblement, and it's also nice to be able to lug one set of full plate without becoming encumbered. Since you have to be Level 6 to get Rogue Mechanic I, you could make it higher if you intend to use melee weapons before then. Up to you.
Have 16 DEX for ranged accuracy and an okay +3 to Open Lock. If you have spare points after investing in the other key stats, feel free to up it. Additionally, it should also be the stat to invest level-up points into.
Most people would suggest to invest at least 6 build points into CON on every character. With Drow's -2 CON penalty, that'll give you around 12 CON. You--and most others--may be more comfortable with 14 CON, but it's your call on whether it's worth the 4 additional build points. Remember that even though you are a ranged build, there is always a monster that will decide to chew on you instead of the big bad melee or caster tank instead, so it's nice to have a decent HP buffer so you can figure out what is going on and react accordingly.
14 INT is good enough to find and pop traps with the right equipment, though with the extra skill points and Mechanic's INT bonus to repeater damage you might be tempted to make it higher. Before you do, remember that 14 INT is enough to invest in all the critical skills and maybe one or two of your choice; you are already a Mechanic, the King of Traps; there are tomes and +INT items you'll run into that will help your INT; and even then you will be a support unit at best. Again, it's your call.
Leave the other stats. 10 CHA is enough to be able to UMD most things with proper gear, buffs, and skill boosts. Your already-paltry Will saves will hurt, but it's not worth investing points into WIS to improve it.
Since I haven't played my Mechanic far enough to make an educated layout, I'll leave the feats for someone more knowledgeable. However, this is one feat I'm certain will help the most:
- Toughness. Due to a Rogue's paltry +d6 HP per level, I highly recommend Toughness at either levels 1 or 3 to get a little extra HP and unlock the Toughness enhancements. An extra 20 HP for 3 AP can mean the difference between clinging to life and a stone on the ground.

Thanks for the help, but i really don't pretend to go melee.
What does that even mean? You don't fight? Or you only fight with ranged weapons?
Either way, you will end up on a lot of 'do not group' lists and will not in any way shape or form enjoy the later levels of the game.
I vote delete and don't make a char with less than 14 con.

Thx for helps.
About str, i have given lots of toughts in this. 2 full plates and i'm burdened. ray of enffeblement and i'm helpless. Will work this.
16 dex seems nice, but i have 18 from the start and enchatments and stuff, and i miss alot. and i tend to go near the enemies so sneak atack works, and still miss a lot, with sneak atack enchantments to hit. And there's AC. I'm giving toughts, since u explained really well, and convinced me for a moment.
I rarely had problems with con. when monsters chase me, they take like, the triple my life anyway xD. Yes, i will give 12 or 14.
Now, int is where i can't see your point. Because of mechanic, i put this on damage. Why so low?
And toughness seems like a waste of feat to me, but so many are telling me to get more life, that i'm thinking of getting.
And by i don't go melee i mean that i prefer going ranged, and no party had problems with that. Actually, in quests like the tear of drakhan, i was one of the 3 better killers. And no party has ever had a problem with me going pure ranged.
I'm not aswering this because i think u're a moron or something like that. But because i'm scared now, I mean, at some point in the game, ranged partymember is going to be trash?
Again thx for helps
