So from reading I have heard and seen a lot of options on character creation from all sorts of people.

I was wondering what if any Character Builders or Spell Book creators you all use?

I personally have been having a blast with the Heroforge and Spellforge tools, but I find some errors along the way.

p.s. The main reason I use these is the majority of my players penmanship (mine included) is illegible.

I usually use a classic WotC pdf, that's editable. Majorly because after I write something, I am the only one who can read it. :D

Edit: I guess heroforge needs microsoft office? Or will it work in openoffice too?

Edit2: found the faq, it doesn't work in openoffice :(

I use HF. But my friend who owns a Mac uses dmgeni.

Yeah HF doesn't work in Openoffice. Openoffice doesn't support macro.

dmgeni.

You made a typo there. It's dmgenie (http://www.dmgenie.com/). I didn't want to nitpick, I was just trying to make sure, that people who may want to use this information will find what they're looking for.

I'm old school, in that when i play i use an official D&D character sheet & an entire pad of paper. When i DM, i DM like i play... No computers, no computer programs outside of word. Paper and pencil works fine.
