First Let me say hello and welcome. This is my first character here and im very excited to join DDO online. I have been a player of mmo's since everquest 1 in 2002.
I have read a lot on this forum about different builds, and the pre-builds (ones recommended for new players) are very cookie cutter. Has a new player was wondering if Arcane Warrior was something that would work, with out being gimpy. Is there someone who has perfected this build, so I can just follow it, I am also free to play but don't mind spending a little bit of money to get the build that I want.
Thank you all in advance, cant wait to see you online.

wow there are a lot of different styles of builds. I have a question. If you start a character and then unlock the 32 point build (for example my character is level 10 28 point and i use favor to unlock 32 point) is that character automatically 32 points or 28?

That character remains 28 point, unless you reach level 20 and TR, then I believe you jump straight up to 34 point. Having never done it though, I cannot say for sure. But I do know that you do not get upgraded to 32 pt build on that character. It just enables you to create a 32 pt. build.
But more on topic: Yeah there are a lot of different types of builds. Look around and you'll hopefully find one that matches your play style. People have been concocting the arcane warrior bladesinger type builds pretty for a while, and I have to assume there are at least a couple good ones, like those listed here. Also, technically a bard would be an arcane warrior... ;)

I think one can upgrade a 28 to a 32 point build with a greater heart of wood. Though I believe that must be bought in the store.
Before doing that I would ask myself where I would put those points and how big a difference it would really make.
