I entrapped myself in an idea i had a couple weeks ago. I told myself that i would make a one man guild. I have become attached to my solo guild and dont want to make guild points for any other guild but i do want to enjoy having a guild around. Are there ways to form guild alliances? One idea i had was to join a guild and "add friends" the entire roster with my other characters who are in the warriors guild.

Only thing left to you is to invite unguilded players you group with you like and make your guild grow that way.

Yeh but isnt it important to have a website and forum for these guilds to grow? I am not sure i want to be a guild leader.

No, it's not at all important. Many guilds use them, but you can easily have a guild that doesn't.

Not really but if you feel it'd help then they're pretty simple to set up. One link and a few details is all it takes to create a website.

Few do. When I was asked to create a guild soon after the EU servers started back on Boldrei I didn't think I did either. However it went fine up until Keeper started to disappear and it expanded onto Age of Conan as well. No reason you shouldn't do as well as any other guild (assuming you don't do whatever the "other" guilds are being criticised for).

Indeed, +1 rep. :)

I gave a guild on Ghallanda that is called Peace, Love and Monster Removal. Our guild is made up of solo players and other casual players. Some may group, some do not but we have joined together to take advantage of the new guild system. We are now level 14. I do not have a website or anything to promote my guild (except shameless plugs in other people's threads like this one).

I don't really worry about the guild growing and being leader has not been a problem for me. I have recruited a little here on the forums and everything seems to be working out fine.

Have fun with it and good luck.

Just create a chat channel, and invite the peeps you want to stay in touch with.

Yeah...the guild I'm in is pretty much just a handful of RL friends and our alts. I think its 9 people total, and 3 of them haven't even played in like 4 months, and 1 only recently started up again.

Just create a chat channel, and invite the peeps you want to stay in touch with.

Only problem with the channels (as in /joinchannel whatever + password) is that you can never tell who's in there listening. Now if all you had to do was ask "Who's online" then it wouldn't be a problem but not everyone listening would want to be identified. I'd prefer to know who was reading my chat.

P.S. Passwords and channel names are no guarantee the details won't get out either.

Just invite peeps you trust not to divulge the password info.

Loose lips, sink ships. That's true in everything.

Besides, I'm pretty sure ( from the majority of his posts ) that this guy's not looking to from some elitest, powergamer club, with a " No noobs allowed " policy. He simply wants to be in a social network without hassle, and losing the solo guild he created. As such, a chat channel is pretty much perfect for him.

Indeed but a little discretion might help in the future if the guild takes off.

Little advice, nothing more.

just find guilds you like to run with. If you run with them a lot you will be their friend and invited a lot to the party...

a lot of guilds use teamspeak, vent, murmur, etc... once you are in the inside, it really does not matter what the guild name on your head is.

You could befriend other guilds and create a private chat channel or get invited to an existing private channel.

EDIT: I should really not open a thread walk away for a bit then come back and respond.

You ever heard the expression "You can't eat your cake and have it, too"?

One way to do this, and it can be a pain, is to create 5 other 'FREE' accounts and invite them into your guild. This way you'll increase your small guild bonus from 200% @ 1 account to 300% @ 6 accounts.

If you're on Khyber hit me up and I'm sure I could 'share' some of my characters to increase your account tally.

Hi OP

Purely curious as to what 1 man guild you belong to?

I tried MyDDO'ing you but your toons are not visible (I may be doing something wrong)

I've seen a lot of discussion here about solo players forming 1 man guilds to get the bonuses, but I haven't heard if thats effective or not. Would love to hear how you are doing.

But you also get the best Small Guild Bonus with 6 accounts. So if you are serious about levelling your guild to at least 25 [before decay sets in], then you'll need to ensure you are getting the best bonus you can possibly have.

Nice one Deuce,

I'm in a small guild and we have managed 18th so far, and hopefully will hit 20th sometime in the next week or so if we keep up our run rate. We don't actively farm renown, but many of us are running Slayers for pre epic items, taps or shroud ingredients and so get a good amount from Rares chests as well as the questing/raiding.

It certainly improved big time for us once they balanced the drop rates for renown and got the small guild bonus working. I'm not sure whether that works out as well for you in a single person guild. How have you guys found it?

TheChemicals, I am still interested to know your guild name so I can watch you progress as a single person guild and see how the guild renown works out for 1 person guilds.

Same for you Deuce, whats your guild called?

Regards
Wolf

As a solo guild [for the most part only 1 other 'live' active account], I've found Antique Bronze Token's as my biggest renown getter :) The 300% bonus to guild reward per get made it a lot easier to level [currently L19], with 6 accounts within the Guild.

If you are ultra small, that is the sweet spot you should be aiming for. If you are intending to get your Guild Level up and still remain ultra small.
