Does is still disappear if the caster goes through first?

If not I might try and grabing a sweet amount of aggro when the party is taking a break and then d door out and watch em all die.

I can see it now.

Fighter: 'Afk, bio'
Cleric: 'me too'
Bard: Afk phone'
Barbarian: 'Brb Door'
Rogue: lost connection earlier and the party is waiting on him to get back so he can disarm a trap.

I am the caster and I feel like this would be fun so I do it.

MUAHAHAHAHHAHA!

its working as intended.
after 3 "ooops" moments every caster should have the patience to wait for the group to go first. alternatively use 2 ddoors (if you have 2 capable casters with you)...

anyway, you sound like a person i would maybe leave behind intentionally (reading about griefing afk ppl).

So............

I can be a complete jack hole and do this if I want to.

Even if they are not afk I could do this and they couldn't use the D door. Let's say I d door 10 feet from them.

"Sup guys I have friends"

---D Door---- ** Poof** its gone.

I'm at the beginning of the dungeon and my party is left with a huge mob 10 feet in front of them.

LOL.

If this game lets us be jerks then someone is going to do it.

Have you have never greased a ladder before on your party members in stk in the big room with the water at the bottom and watch them get attacked from the ranged casters?

Course if you understood what you were talking about you would realize they have 8 seconds to take it. Also realize that what you describe above is not new...and has been doable for years...it didn't need this change....but your griefing skill is weak.

They don't have 8 seconds to take it. It's gone as soon as the caster is out of range. Someone didn't keep up with the latest update, huh.

And what you will get if you do this is a invitation to about 90% of the playing peoples special friends list.

Have fun in game

You always could grab a bunch of mobs, haul them to the party and teleport out to grief them. That happened how often??

Or you could just die, a tiny little repair wouldn't be much for such a hilarious prank. And any class can do it. That happened frequently? ( well it did but usually out of noobishness)

In other words, your complaint is weak and if you think using the change to grief is going to do anything other than get you on do not group lists, you are mistaken.

And then be banned for griefing, so sure, do it.

Nah the true way to do it is to Grease the ladder, and then set it on fire. Slippery and Burny on the way up FTW!

It depends on who you do it to. If you do it to guildies while you're just doing some of those f around, then no big deal.

d door working as craptastically intended ... the lowest hp character is the only one who can cast it and has to be the last through it when in trouble ... would have been better if they just removed the spell lol.

It was never broken. Yeah, I suppose this does open the door to griefing. But your example doesn't require DD to work like it did pre-U5. Everyone is AFK. They'll probably die anyway if they aren't watching the screen.

But I like to imagine it like this:

Mage: I have opened a portal for escape, but it is one way and I must remain here to hold it open. Quick, everyone through!
Barbarian: Don't have to tell me twice!
Ranger: I'm hustlin'!
Dwarf Cleric: I'm runnin' as fast as me tiny legs will carry me!
Mage: Hurry now! There's no time! The monsters will be upon us in seconds!
Dwarf Cleric: I canna make me legs longer by wishin' it!
Mage: ******! If I don't follow through the portal I will die too! Good luck, friend dwarf! *hops through*
*portal closes*
*monsters encircle dwarf hungrily*
Dwarf Cleric: Ack! I hate wizards.

Mage: I have opened a portal for escape, but it is one way and I must remain here to hold it open. "Marines, we are LEAVING!" (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=3048396&postcount=174)

I fixed the dialogue for you.
