I recently unlocked Drow. I decided to roll a new character, because Drow are just so cool :) Now I am running into a problem with leveling Vs renown.
This is the problem I am running into with renown as it currently is.
I have enough XP to become 5th level, but have all these level 3 quest I have not completed. I would like to take the level, but then I will get very little renown. I also ran into this when I was ready to go to 4th level, but only had 3 level 2 quest left. So I finished them first then leveled, but this is 13 quests.
I can see this problem getting worse as more adventure packs are released. I enjoy new content, so I hope they keep releasing more.

Is any one else also running into this problem?
Am I just weird in wanting to run all the adventures, level up when available, collect favor, and get renown?

You have the base amount of chance to get renown for on level quests and then it goes down 4% each level for in quest chests for renown drops. So if you do them on hard and then elite you regain some of those lost % due to it increasing the quest base level.
But that being said you'll have more quests at level as you go up and up and should gain renown from them. So like missing out on lower levels for good XP as you gain levels faster than you can do all those low level quests, there is little to do.

Don't see what the problem is, a favor run would give you 0 xp and 0 renown but is no big deal.
There's more than enough quests to level up so you have to return after leveling to do the rest for favor only.
But those quests would be easier at higher level and thus shouldn't take too much of your time.
You'll get xp and renown as usual on your way to the next level.
Nor you have to do them all except for the favor, you can skip quite a bit of quests.
I tend to skip the cerulean hill and the market quests, by buying stk and tangleroot.

You're speaking of favor, not renown.
The amount of favor you get from a quest is a straight amount based on the difficulty, elite granting the most. Once you've elited a quest there's no more renown to gain from it.
Quest level versus your level in no way affects favor gain.
If you're level 20, doing a level 3 quest on a difficulty you haven't done, you'll still receive that quests amount of favor.
By all means, go ahead and level. If you find yourself needing to grind out some favor, just go blow through all those low level quests. It's actually a lot easier to grind out favor at higher levels than to try to sandbag your levels and get it all at level.

I am referring to guild renown. If I take the level, the renown drops drastically.

Can you rephrase what you're asking in an easier way to understand? Because I read your posts a few times and I'm still not sure what you're asking.

Certainly, my only real questions are:
Is anyone else running into the problem of getting levels to quickly so a choice between raising your level or getting guild renown is becoming an issue?
and
Am I just weird in wanting to run all the adventures, level up when available, collect favor, and get renown?

You're the only one.
My issue with levelling is not being able to do all quests my level and below on elite before moving on. But I quickly learnt that I level way too fast to be able to do such a thing. Renown is a non-issue because you can get it from other quests your level or higher. I get what you're trying to do, I used to do it too. But you'll soon learn in time that it's much better to level as fast as you can (not powergaming but just level when you can or keep some xp and level when forced to) and come back to run the quests on elite (even without getting xp) just for the favor.

Your phrasing was quite confusing.
Yes, your renown will drop. But if you're continuing to run quests at or around your level, you'll still be collecting renown.
Honestly, leveling up and getting more experience in the game is more important than guild renown. You'll be earning a fair bit of renown doing the questing to level up anyway.
If you really feel the need to see all those quests, then just sandbag the level.
You're going to be earning renown either way and honestly renown is easier to pull down at higher levels.
It's a personal choice. Play whatever you have fun with. :)

Guess I am just weird then :)
I shall have to try to be more "normal"

Thank you all for your responses.
I shall continue to slay the evil denizens of this land and hope somebody in a tavern mentions my name over a tankard of ale.

I started banking levels. You can have 1 xp less than 2 levels saved before you quit getting xp. I did it so that I could do more quests at level and to have more xp when I get to the higher levels where there are not as many quests. You will still find that you can't complete all the quests before you outlevel them, but it helps a little.
Although I think the other comments above are right - it would be quicker to just keep going and come back for favor runs. I'm not in a big hurry, though, and am enjoying checking out more quests on my first time through.

Strange I understood perfectly well what was being asked and answered it in the second post. Not sure what everyone else's confusion was about.

Lots of people want to do 'all the quests' at level but that's impossible there's more quests that you need to level.
The game of D&D is like that, more about doing quests than for leveling by itself.
There's no hurry to visit all quests either, just balance the quests you do for xp and renown with the ones you do for favor and loot.

The OP subtly brings up a major problem with renown. You gain much more renown doing the 3 minute quests at level 3 than you would doing high level quests at level.
The question is, is it worth doing all the low level quests even if you are over max blue bar? You will do them all eventually for favor, so why not do them while you are low level and get renown? Isn't it better to farm renown while you can?

For a game that has a current level cap of 20, Turbine seems to be stuck back in the days when the level cap was around 12

I'm curious how you managed to get so much experience when not running all the quests. Did you run some many times, start with Veteran Status, or do a ton of Wilderness work? Even including Catacombs and the beginnings of STK and Tangleroot I'm struggling to get you to even 45,000 experience running quests once on normal/solo.

When I start a new character, I tend to do the Coin Lords quests n/h with a couple elite to get 75 favor and the extra inventory slot. Then I go off adventuring now that I can carry more. In that picture, I had finished the 75 Coin Lords favor and the rest of the 2nd level quests on normal.
I have not yet unlocked Veteran Status. I did purchase the 32 point build and have some nicer equipment from playing my other characters. None of it is crafted, just end rewards from low to lower middle quests.
