Axe vs Pick

Sooo, I didn't pay attention to the fine print where it stated frenzy only impacts on a 19-20. I blithley went off gathering up scimis with pictures of big numbers a whole lot of the time floating in my head. Someone in my guild made a note of it during a discussion, so I am going to go back to either axes or picks. Any advice on the choice?

If you are a Dwarf, Axes. Dwarven enhancements to Axe damage and attack are great, and tip the scales in favor of using them.

If you are not a dwarf, I would suggest:

TWF: Kopesh(Always 1st choice, except I think for Elves.) or Heavy Pick.

THF: Falchion or Greataxe.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking - axes since I am a dwarf. Will have to respec again, sigh.

Heavy Picks aren't terrible in a dwarfs hands, and if you choose to stay that way more power to you, but yeah. IN the hands of a Dwarf axes are pretty sweet.

Yeah, I was originally a pick weilder, but changed when the alteraton to rage occurred. I'll go axes for now, since I already have Imp Crit slash.

I don't know if I could give up my picks. Seeing 410+ damage numbers in one hand without twink gear is kinda hard to give up..... Not the bet overall DPS but lots of fun.

Still waiting on a nice two handed great pick to enter the game with a 19-20 x4 or a 20 x5 myself.

I'll be a happy man with a sparkly new toon the instant I see the announcement.

Just because the FB only effects 19-20 rolls should deter you from higher crit range weapons.

Heres a quick look at the math.

Scimitar

.65(4.5+5+x)+.20(2(4.5+5+x+y))+.10(5(4.5+5+x+y))

Where x is your + damage modifier and y is your seeker modifier

simplified that is

14.725+1.55*x+.90*y

Pick

.85(4.5+5+x)+.1(7(4.5+5+x+y))

simplified that is

14.725+1.55*x+.7*y

So basically the same except a slight edge to the scimitar due to seeker modifier. Id still go picks or khopesh due to the prevalence of autocrit mobs in endgame but just an example on the faulty thinking of only to go with 19-20 crit range weapons with FB.
