Just logged on to my server, wanted to check out the auction house to look for some Scales. Open up the ingredient page and behold, 86 pages of ingredients!!! Really?? If this doesn't tell you we need a better way to search for stuff on the AH I don't know what does!
PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD, give us a better way to scan through the AH!!

Question: Is there anything else you want to say about DDO?
Answer: Half-Orc smash! We are going to be releasing a new race this fall, I believe, so it’s part of this year’s release plan. A new race of half-orcs. They are going to be the biggest, toothiest thing that we’ve ever had in-game. They’re a little larger than the warforged, and those are in development here. We’re getting stuff back from the art department: nice looking models and some really cool dance moves for those who want to do the emotes. They have some really cool abilities. They start with enhanced strength so they’ll be great barbarians in the game. That’s one that we’re definitely excited about. It’s been on every player’s question list for the last four years – when are we doing half-orcs? We’re finally delivering on that.
To add some more on what’s coming out later in the year in update 7 and 8, the other thing that I’m excited about is an overhaul to the user interface in the game. This is another thing that we’ve gotten a lot of player press on, and the players will be very excited to see a face lift UI as well as some much requested, and justifiably griped about, fixes to auctions. Players can be happy to know that we’ll be doing string searches in auctions, proper sorting of the search results, and other improvements to the UI that they’ll really enjoy. As a player, I’m so excited to be able to be able to properly search the auction and see the UI get a little bit of a refresh.

How many bugs do you think will be included in the search function and how many hot fixes will it take to fix all the bugs from implementation and hot fixes?

I'll believe it when it happens! I can show you articles from 2007 that said Half elves and Druids were just around the corner too!
It would of been nice if they could of done this BEFORE they added trap ingredients and Ice games ingredients to the already huge list of ingredients in game on the AH

...but will I be playing by the end of the year? That is the question.
I think its more about plat farmers writing script bots that will use the search function to buy up all the same items and then have a corner in the market. This happens in alot of other games.
THey can do this anyhow, however they have to be there in person and cant buy the item up literally right after it hits the AH, so it sits for a little while giving other people the chance to buy it as well.
In EQ2 for instance when selling crafting ingredients, I would put 1 on the AH, and the bot would immediately buy it up. Them I would put another one on at a higher price and the bot would buy that too. Soon through process of elimination, I could discern what the highest price was that the bot was programmed to buy said item. Then I could dump them all at the highest price x the number I had left.
So yeah, if we want this kind of thing to happen in DDO, put a search function on the AH.
What is the lesser of two evils?
