I just had an odd thought. Anyone know how "smart" DC II or better is? What I mean is DC II cures several things, including both components of Mummy Rot. So I started wondering if two castings of DC II or III would remove Mummy Rot?

Bump. Someone must have tried the above sometime, right?

a level 1 disease immunity item prevents mummy rot.
remove curse, and remove disease pots are easy to find.
DC isnt worth the cost in ap, let alone DC II and DC III imo

I understand. With the release of RS, I'm just wondering if I'd be able to save a bunch of SP by using it on those who don't have pots and want me to cure them.

No no no no.
If they can't take care of themselves to any degree, then you don't cure them.

On my Cleric, I have a list of things I require to secure my services. One of them is that they carry Remove Curse, Remove Disease, and so forth, potions. Either carry a Disease Immunity item, or carry a stack of potions.
I will load the spells, if I feel there's nothing better to slot there at that time. But I won't cast them in pugs.

anybody who doesnt bring a disease immunity item into a dungeon where you know mummies will be really doesnt deserve to be healed. Have them go pay the silver flame priest at the tavern a time or two and they will quickly learn the lesson.

I have DCIII on my main CLR/RS.
Have had it for years and would never get rid of it - not before RS and definitely not after!!!
The ability to cure so many effects/states with one button at no mana cost is fantastic!
Take DC as far as you can and use it! Once you get used to it, and it may take some time, it will be a liberating experience.
That's right, throw off the shackles that are DVs! Manage your own mana, not someone elses! Walk a different path - walk the path of Divine Cleansing!

both arguments for to have and not to have are valid. yes it takes up a bunch of ap while people should be smart enough to carry pots (wands) for things they dont have protection from.
however some people have particular items used for there builds that dont leave room for protection items and they may have forgotten to buy pots then yeah having that skill to help them without it costing u mana is great (even more so at low levels while people are poor and stupid about items and equipment selection).
It really is up to you based on how ur building your toon. if your going heal bot without any smiting enhancements you have some space for that ability. but if it comes down to something more important like a stat boost or increassed healing power or a racial abiliy u need for your build then thats when u pass on the divine cure.
example i have a cleric/sorc tons of turns i have vitality aura and cure they regen and save me mana but my build is as a protable shrine and buff bot. as u get to higher levels and discover how u want to play your toon u can always reset your enhancements so play around with it and see what works for you and your play style.
