Touch of Death

I like to drop down in PVP as a time sink and for whatever else. After the patch I noticed that the Dark Path Monks were able to bypass my shield blocking abilities and still strike me down with Touch of Death. That was never the case before.

Is this a bug or is it working as intended?

For lack of knowledge of D&D rule set and speaking from experience in DDO and as indicated in my post "that was never the case before"

never checked in pvp but it does 500 untyped damage. so its wai as far as i'm concerned...

Interesting, well I sent a PM to Eladrin and he responded, "... Typically "carriers" like that should be stopped by shield blocks."

SO i will test it otu again tonight when i get home to see if they are bypassing shield block.

I could be wrong, but I know for a fact before the patch Monks could not deal TOuch of Death when I was in block mode.

hmm, i thought of touch of death as a ki-strike that does not have to connect physically. like in the lame kung-fu movies where they burst wooden planks without touching em..

pvp sucks, but here's the facts from playing a few months ago

In order for touch of death to do any damage, the monks initial strike has to do base damage that bypasses the DR of the character in order for the 500 points of damage to be dealt.

So if a monk cannot bypass the DR, then nothing will happen.

No idea if something has changed since update 5 or patch 1.
