What's the value situation?

So,

Back from some time away from DDO ... got a 4.0 for the semester and also had two summer classes that just wrapped up. So it's time to decide whether to re-activate the sub or continue playing as premium. What's the value look like these days? Are they still doing mad point sales? Does anyone know if turbine points earned via lotro will be spendable in ddo? (Lifetime in LotRO so 500 points a month indefinitely)

this game is worth it cause it takes a lot of your time but not all of your time, you can use it to fill your void without using it to waste your life (if you're careful), and if you are smart your g/f/wife wont even notice!

so to answer your question, it's worth it imo since you can cancel in a few months when school starts up again and have spent less money than you would buying content while getting everything the game has to offer!

And as for the LOTRO points and DDO. They will remain separate, unless some universal turbine point card gets implemented in the future.

I don't believe the points transfer but I honestly don't know. As for going premium/VIP there are benefits to VIP that are costly to premium. However going premium lets you buy what you want and only what you want. If you plan on not playing while at school I'd probably go premium. They have done the points sale a couple times this year and I expect more (but could be wrong.)

I was a subscriber until the semester started and it was actually a lot easier than I expected it to be. The wife and I even played some WoW and LotRO when we had time, heh. I just like DDO a lot, and I have quite some points banked from my previous subbed months, thought maybe I could buy a 5k bundle and snag the good adventure packs or something ... going to resub for a month I think and see how things are.

So it's time to decide whether to re-activate the sub or continue playing as premium. What's the value look like these days? To own all the stuff from the store a VIP rents by the month at full price you would have to shell out approximately 17,000 tp. If you wait for sales, both on those items and on points it is closer to 9000 tp. Ultimately it depends on you. If you refuse to wait for sales, go VIP if you intend to play less than a year, if you are willing to wait for sales, go VIP if you intend to play less than 6 months. Subtract a month for every 1500 points you have saved up. Otherwise premium is the better deal for you.

Also note that you cannot buy three VIP perks in the store. If you cannot live without priority login when the server is overcrowded, (as a premium I've never needed it or encountered a wait to login,) or cannot wait 3 days for the new adventure packs to be added to the store, or have to have the ability to open dungeons on hard first without doing normal, then go VIP.
