Does anyone know why my Wiz cannot inscribe scrolls even if I have the correct materials!!!!
This is very frustrating as being able to get all spells was the reason I went for Wiz :(

You should be able to. What exactly are you trying to do and what exactly is the error message you get?

You can only inscribe Arcane scrolls (Ones that say they are usable by Wizards)
I believe there may also be an issue if you are using guild supplies to inscribe the spell making it not work.

You must be in a tavern to scribe scrolls.

it should be working fine, unless its a bug.
Make sure you have the right level materials. Put the inscribe icon on the hot bar. click on the scroll in your back pack then click inscribe and it should work.
If not submit a ticket ingame.
P.S double check your a wiz not a sorc :)

That is not correct.

Also make sure you are buying the correct components. You need to buy them by spell level, not caster level.
For example, If you were trying to inscribe Haste, you would need level 3 components, since it's a level 3 spell. Some people get confused because it says Wiz 5 on the scroll, and think they need level 5 components.
Hope this helps.

What spell are you trying to inscribe, what materials are you using, what is the message you are receiving, and what is your character's intelligence score?

Are you using guild vendor inscription materials? They may be bugged like the components. Not sure though.

Been there...
My bet is that he is not using the inscribe feature (that was my problem)
You need (Ill skip you need to be a wizard :D)
To be at appropriate level to be able to learn the spell; "Edit : To have enough intelligence score to learn the spell"
To have the right level spell scroll and the spell you want to learn in inventory;
To use the Inscribe Spell FEATURE (click c/ Feat tab/drag the feat to hotbar);
To select the spell you want to learn and click inscribe.
Should work...
Have fun!

To be at appropriate level to be able to learn the spell;
Nope, just have high enough intelligence score.
A lvl 1 with an Int of 19 can inscribe lvl 9 spells.

You must be in a tavern to scribe scrolls.
Others have pointed out that this is not correct.
Everytime I read a thread about a wiz with scribing problems, this is stated by someone.
I am curious if you rmember where you heard this.
Perhaps we can go back to the source and let them know.

Tavern atmosphere isnt' very awesome for studying scrolls, when you think about it ;) Rowdy people drinking so much, people punching each others lights out....occasionally a Meteor Shower disrupting the foundation of the inn.

Actually I found that all you can eat buffets were awsome places to study, let alone grade student tests.
Had to apologize for pizza stains on occasion. :)

Unfortunately they haven't given us wizards towers yet but I'm hopeful. If each person who rolled a wizard could build a tower and put all kinds of nasties to keep the annoying adventurers away it would be easier to take over the world.

I didn't know about the intelligence requirement - I mean, I did, but I didn't know that was why I could inscribe higher level scrolls. I figured it had to do with my level. Thanks for that info.
Getting back to the OP's problem, though, I can't use Guild spell inscription materials either. Once I bought non-guild materials I could scribe just fine. So I have a few materials for a range of levels (as I tried different level materials to scribe my scroll), they're in my bank along with some spell components, waiting for a bug-fix. (*fingers crossed* please let there be a bug fix).
Others in my guild have had the same trouble.
I did report it as a bug.

It is a DDO thing. Pen and Paper doesn't work that way.

I have the correct intelligence and the correct materials for inscribing them.
I equip the scroll and then click the Inscribe scrolls feat - The only things I can think of is like soembody has said I am using guild vendor materials - Maybe I should try others!

Don't equip the scroll, just click on it once in your inventory to highlight it and then click inscribe.

It now seems as if all my Guild Vendor Inscribe materials have been removed from me!!!!!
Guess that is how they are fixing the problem :( 3000pp gone out the window!

You need to meet the spell level int requirement and the right mat to inscribe scrolls ... if both are accounted for then is bugged.

Paladins get all their spells automatically, like Clerics and Rangers. Only wizards can inscribe scrolls.

like sirea said above me, paladins can't inscribe scrolls.
as of yet, only wizards can write into their spell book.
other classes are either divine (ranger/pally/cleric/fvs) or arcane (sorc/bard).
rangers/pally's/clerics get all spells on their spell list upon level up. they cannot cast spells not on their
list (without umd). Sorc and bard have to select their spells upon level up as do fvs.

I am having the same problem had no problems inscribing scrolls til now. I am lvl 6 wizard and can cast lvl 3 spells, I have lvl 3 inscription materials and the lvl 3 scroll lesser death aura. I highlight the scroll, click inscribe and BOOM it tells me I do not have the right inscription materials. This is frustrating if I can no longer scribe scrolls that is a major cripple to wizards and might as well be a sorc.

Lesser Death Aura
Cooldown: 5 seconds
Spell Point Cost:
Target: Self
Level:
2 (Wizard, Sorcerer)
Components: Somatic, Verbal
School: Necromancy
Metamagic: Extend, Heighten, Quicken
Spell Resistance: Yes
Envelops the caster in a sickly aura of negative energy. Living enemies stepping inside the aura take 1 to 4 negative energy damage every two seconds as long as they remain within it. Undead are instead healed by the aura.\n\nD&D Dice: Deals 1d4 negative energy damage every two seconds.
That might be your problem there, buddy. You acquire level 2 spells at L3. If your scroll says "Wiz L5", it means a L5 wizard can acquire the spell at that level. The spell itself will still be L3 in that case. In your case, you need a L3 wiz to cast level 2 spells, but the components you need to inscribe the spell are level 2 components.

Sounds like the OP had the guild vendor materials bug - the post is 3 months old
and was apparently fixed in update 5 patch 1
Components purchased from the Guild Reagent vendors in the House Kundarak Enclave will now work as expected. http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Release_Notes_Update_5_Patch_1_Official
@vampiregoat69 as Dingdong says it looks like you confused wizard (caster) level and spell level.
One small tip is if you look at the spell icon you can see a small roman numeral for the spell level
in the top left corner - those are the inscription materials you need.
