i just leveled my dwarf cleric to 10 and am reviewing my chosen feats
i havent taken Quicken Spell yet, should i pay the 10kpp to swap for it or just wait till 12 to get it?
feats i have taken;
Empower Healing Spell
Extend Spell
Eschew Materials
Toughness

Waiting is fine. If you do swap--swap it for Eschew materials.

Swap out Eschew Materials and don't take it again - it's not worth it at all. Just grab stacks of 200 or so of each material component and make sure to fill up every few days.

something i do which u may find handy, is to assign all of your material components to a hotbar that you dont use (number 20 maybe, and i tend to assign them to appropriate levels so level 1 spells in slot 1 etc) then at the end of a gaming session just switch to that hotbar & you can see at a glance if you're running low on anything & top up

as you said, you get quicken at 12, so that aprticular swap is not worth the cost.

However, it would be well worth it to dump eschew materials and snag maximize or empower spell. Find/Add a Sup Pot VI item and either meta would notch up your damage output from spells like Blade Barrier and Comet Fall, which become available at level 11.

Eschew Materials is a worthless feat, and is not worth the sp cost. As for spell components, they are cheap. You could buy 200 or you could buy a stack of 1000. If you are crunched for inventory space, look thru your spells and determine what spell components you really need to carry - a majority of cleric spells dont require components - could be a quest by quest assessment or if you don't swap spells all that much, make the assessment when you do decide to reset your spells and carry only what you are likely to need/use.

You mostly need it for blade barrier (slow), which you get at 11 so waiting to 12 is ok.

thanks again for the advice, ive mainly been a healer and havent put much into offensive spells but now that im getting some good ones that makes more sense (ive had a bad habit of not paying attention to components, something i'll have to work on)
