View Full Version : Are all the action boosts bugged?

I was in a Shroud last night and noticed something funny using my Fighter Haste attack boost and my Human Versitality Damage boost.

I have a Stalwart Defender neclace so I have 2 extra boosts.

We are beating on portals, I hit the Haste boost then start tapping the damage boost so that it turns on as soon as it is allowed and it goes from 7 uses down to 1 use left. It registered 6 uses but I only got the benefit of 1 use. I was pretty sure that I had all my boosts when I entered.

I repeated the same problem on part 2 when I had my boosts back trying to see if I was just crazy and seeing things in part 1 or forgot to sit in a tavern long enough and just didn't have all my boosts...I'm not crazy and I had all my boosts becasue I shrined before entering part 2. Same problem was repeatable and I was able to see the numbers go from 7 to 6 to 5 to 4 to 3.

Repeated the same boost test in part 4 and the problem was repeatable.

Beating on Harry in part 5, I used one of my damage boosts, had the benefit, but there was no cool down timer on it. I also tried using up several boosts by tapping the button again and was able to repeat the problem.

The problem doesn't seem to occur on the first boost used but if you use more than 1 boost, the second boost has the problem...at least that is what was happening on my character.

it's the cooldown reset thing.. dont spam your boosts.. you will trip the timer with an "interruption" and use them all up if you spam click..

This is an exploit, as it has more "practical" applications. I suspect to see this thread deleted soon (I had one deleted on the same topic with a warning, I had just stumbled on the more "practical" applications, which I'm refraining from mentioning exactly what they are, since I got a warning last time).


Edit: although, as long as this thread is up, ya don't spam stuff like boosts right now because you'll cheat yourself out of uses by wasting them. So it is nice to kind of have a warning about that.

And the devs are aware of the issue.

Yep they're bugged. Stuff with cool down timers can be circumvented (manyshot, monk's touch of death, haste/damage boosts, divine intervention) by "interrupting" them and resetting the cool down timer back to 0, allowing you to immediately use them again.

...aaaaand there went any doubt of thread destruction. =P But ya that. The poor portals have been crying over this.

The devs need to fix this asap. The use of this is spreading rapidly. It's not easy to do. I was told how and never could replicate it, but DID see the bug eating my charges of Uncanny Dodge over and over (I was clicking at it towards the end of the cooldown at Shroud and instead of ignoring clicks until the cooldown was over, it simply ate the charges; I need UD to lower the rate I take damage at). In one group the archers were instructed how to do Manyshot over and over. While I sympathize on the Manyshot's excessive cooldown, it's just plain wrong to use this bug this way.
