Is it worth taking a level or 2 of Rogue if I'm a sorceror?

Only if you want to gimp your sorc. Never multi class a sorc. They are just that awesome.

Kneejerk: agree with Dumluck

Post kneejerk: what are you hoping to gain? splashing rogue and wiz is common because both use INT as a core stat (search traps for rogue + skill points). splashing rogue into sorc doesn't seem to add much. possibly use the CHA for UMD? that is all i can really think of.

it is much more common to splash rouge with sorc because they are so vain.

EDIT: assumed that evasion was assumed with rogue splash.

Merlocke soloed Epic DQ raid with an 18/2 Sorc/Rogue build:

So short answer, yes it can help. But carefull consideration of the pros and cons need to be taken into account.

Hmmmm....
18 wiz / 2 rogue makes a lot of sense
18 sorc / 2 rogue is really good... though pure sorc is better.

Keeping rogue skills maxed with a sorc/rogue will be a severe pain. With this split you will have a huge stat point split (need a very high dex, int, con, and charisma). You're going to end up short in one area or another.

If you just want evasion, monk would be a better option since you'd get a free feat with it. With rogue you will likely have to choose between either maxing out your rogue skills or having a reflex save high enough to utilize evasion.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. If you wanna cast spells and be a rogue go with wiz/rogue.

I take it 18 Sorc/2 Pally has gone out of style...

With a Wizard, you have lots of Int and that has nice synergy with Rogues. The trap skills are just a side benefit to the Use Magic Device and Evasion benefits that you get, though (imo). Insightful Reflexes makes the Evasion actually worthwhile even without a gajillion points in Dex.

With a Sorcerer, if I wanted Evasion, I'd probably rather have a couple of feats in addition to the Evasion instead of just the skill points. That makes me think Sorc 18/Monk 2 instead of /Rogue 2.

The fact that Insightful Reflexes isn't really avaialble for a Sorcerer and the fact that Sorcerers get their spells one level later than Wizards already makes me think that multiclassing a Sorcerer to get Evasion is not something that most people would be happy with.

Wiz/Rogue has better synergy due to the casting stat and insightful reflexes.

There are some warforged Tukaw builds out there that go 16 sorc 2 pal 2 rogue. Never played one, but they can be good.
