Hello DDO community. Been searching the forums and compendium for an answer but can't seem to get a detailed description on how to swap feats.

To be blunt, I'm now seeing in my own personal opinion, that I made a mistake taking the mental toughness feat on my casters. Closest I seem to find for information is that there's a ritual similar to the enhancement reset for gold or the swap of a sorcerer spell for gold.

Where do you do this, "ritual" and what is the drawback cost to swap a feat? Is this swap a one time thing or is there a scaling drawback cost to swap more then one feat?

Reason I'd much prefer to swap then reroll is because I've some nice items for my levels bound to character and really don't wish to loose them, as well as all the turbine grinded for.

On a side questioning note, if swapping toughness off a toon and you have already bought racial toughness enhancements, what happens to the racial toughness enhancements?

Any detailed resolution to my questions will be greatly valued.

Thanks,

Drowheart

Calm down. First, there is a way to exchange one feat for free. Do the quest in the marketplace called 'Mark of The Dragon' bestowed upon by Lockania. Look for her, she's near the north. Then, you can go to House Jorasco and under the Garden of Respite, you will find Fred the Mindflayer. He will allow you to exchange one feat for free. If you choose to exchange more feats, you have to wait a minimum of 3 days after each feat exchange and you have to pay a price according to your level. The price includes a large amount of plat (or gold) and a siberys dragonshard. The type of siberys dragonshard depends on your level as well.

Fred is the one that changes out feats, and he is in house Jorasco. There is a quest in the marketplace, essentially just a quiz on dragonmarks, that gives you a free feat exchange. After that, the cost depends on your level, in terms of gold and of the size of dragonshard that you need (Sibyres types I think). If you have toughness enhancements, all your enhancements will be reset when you take it out. I guess you could see it as a free enhancement reset.

I am not sure why you would take out toughness though, my wiz needs all the hp he can get, and for one feat and some enhancements its a pretty good deal. Agree on mental toughness, eventually there are things that I want more than extra SP.

Edit: someone else beat me too it, and with the names of quests. At least there is the tidbit on the enhancements I guess.

If you're still fairly low level ( <6 ) I'd suggest getting ahold of a Shard now and saving the free Laccania respec for a higher level when they get pretty expensive (Shard & Fred's fee).

I tried this quest before. Is there a spoiler for the answers because there's just more questions I don't know then one's I do?

Was debating on removing the toughness off my sorcerer. Agreed on keeping it on a wizard imo :D.

Sorry for the OT.

The answers are in the quest itself. Read the 'Scrolls/Books' nearby. It's really easy. Just remember what house specialises in what. House Kundarak = Bank stuff, House Cannith = Repairing Stuff, House Orien = Mail and Transport, House Deneith = Military, House Jorasco = Healing, and some other I forgot. Also try to remember what house has what race in it (majority). The dragonmarks that belong to each of the houses are easy too. You'll get an intuitive feel for which mark belongs to which house if you remember what they specialise in. If all this is too hard for you to remember, just type it out in general chat within the quest or something or write it down for reference. The key words to remember are

1) What house specialises in what?
2) What marks belong to what house?
3) What race belong to which house?

All has been said but I'd still also greatly recommend having a look at the wiki.

Sorcs are kinda squishy. Toughness makes them less squishy. I'd very much advise not removing toughness. Having more hp will allow a larger margin for mistakes without ending up dead.
