Marketplace is one big speed bump and Amrath is well.... just to far.

Just climb on your airship and tell the captain to send you to the Harbor and once you get high enough in guild level you can get a planescaller that will send you to Amrath. ;)

It doesn't make sense to be able to teleport to amrath because that not a place you could go with a teleport.
You would need a planeshift spell to reach there.
However I agree that harbor does need one.

True enough but then again, It is the same as recalling from a dungeon, something that exists purely to make the game more convenient.

Pretty much. Developers have to pad the length of games any way they can, forcing people to walk is one of those ways. However people don't like crossing ground they have already covered, hence the being able to recall to town from quests an explorer areas but not being to teleport right outside the quest entry that is deep in side the the explorer area.
One-way fast travel after long trip for the most part tricks people in to thinking that the trip there wasn't so bad. Having to walk out of dungeons shows people exactly how much of a time sink getting to the end was. Rule 1 for MMOs keep people playing. It's like why casinos have no clocks or windows, so people have no idea how long they've been gambling.

Agreed! Or if not the Harbor, how about having a teleport option to the Inspired Quarter?
And Reaver's Refuge.

amerath is actaully not that long of a trek with teleport.
go to meridia, then talk to djinni, jump/FF to the 12 building and poof you are in amerath....probley quicker then you can get from market to harbour.

Gianthold is already a teleport location.
And traditionally, they don't add teleport locations until a mod or two of complaints have gone by. I wish they kept teleport more up to date, and actually fixed GT to be cast in public areas like they said would happen back when mod 4 came out.

More like add a teleport station to the Marketplace entrance!
Fix GT so that when cast in a quest you can take account/character bound objects from a chest and still use the active teleport!
