I am having some problems deciding what is the best endgame gear for a Sorcerer WF lvl20.
(this is my first lvl20)

Any help, suggestions, links about this?

The choices seem to be so many that I am a bit lost...

Thanks

Here is a good starting point, others may have some different opinions.

head: minos

necklace: Epic Torc with +6 CON for SP regen/spell pen 9

Trinket: Litany/earbug/Bauble

cape: epic cloak of the concord with yellow slot filled with spell focus (blah) or GFL

belt: swap between Rakhir's here for the crit chance and clicky and Telvi's/singed for the clicky for burst DPS

gloves: gloves of the glacier for metamagic cost reduction

boots: +45 hp con opp boots/firestorm greaves/ToD boots

rings: Verik's, Cinder's, Draconic, or gnawed with +2 excep DEX and Rakhir's with +2 excep CON to complete archmage set

bracers: Leviks for STR/healing amp, possibly other greensteel after 40th shroud

docent: dragontouched with +5 resist, +6 DEX (for reflex saves), Greater spell pen 8

goggles: greensteel SP/UMD goggles

weapon: greensteel rapier +9 CHA with Skiver or Epic Greenblade in the other hand

The 1st ring may be replaced with Hound ring for further metamagic cost reduction if you don't need the +1 excep CON to get to an even number.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will look at those.

Suggestion about items that don't require much grind are also welcome!
(by much grind i mean not spending weeks and weeks to get all the epic tokens needed or all the greensteel ingredients needed, but i know i will have to do some)

With new things, and things becoming epic endgame gearing always going to be changing.
Cover your bases CON,CHA,damage and then decide what your after. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=249178).

The Stormreavers Napkin (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Items/Cloaks/StormreaversNapkin.jpg)and Head of Good Fortune (http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/jgould2005/DDO/Items/Trinkets/HeadofGoodFortune.jpg) are easy to get and pretty popular. I'd Take a Litany if your alignment is Neutral & it will even you out.

The crit chance with Rahkir's doesn't stack with Greenblade or Skiver. I also wouldn't put +6 stat in an item using epic tokens, go with exceptional stats instead.

boots: +45 hp con opp boots/firestorm greaves/ToD boots
Conc opp accessories don't stack. I'd create Greensteel immunity boots.

rings: Verik's, Cinder's, Draconic, or gnawed with +2 excep DEX and Rakhir's with +2 excep CON to complete archmage set
Exceptional CON and CHA is what I'm targeting. There's no point crafting Greensteel exceptional CHA weapons these days when there are other options.

bracers: Leviks for STR/healing amp, possibly other greensteel after 40th shroud
You have Reconstruct. Leave the Levik's bracers for the WF barbs.

docent: dragontouched with +5 resist, +6 DEX (for reflex saves), Greater spell pen 8
Epic Torc already has Greater Spell Pen 8. I personally wouldn't grind out DT on a sorc. Not much benefit.

goggles: greensteel SP/UMD goggles
Epic Spectacles of Spirit Sight are better. Necromancy and Enchantment are the two schools you want higher DCs in at end-game. Wrist slot is a good alternative for conc opp.

Here is what i come up to...

I am not really interested in keep grinding for ingredients/tokens often by doing the same things over and over again. For example, I already ransack all 4 quests to get the essences to update the Quorforged Docent of Battle and I am still missing 4 green essences.
This is frustration and allot of boring after a while (but i know I have to do it to get all the stuff I am putting here).

Goggle: Epic Spectacles of Spirit Sight
Helmet: Generic +6 WIS or Minus (if stacks, not sure if it does)
Neck: Epic Torc of Prince Raiyum-de II
Trinket: Xachosian Eardweller
Armor: Quorforged Docent of Battle
Cloak: Stormreaver's Napkin
Wrist: Generic +6 STR
Belt: Greensteel (Blindness Immunity/+50SP/+2excINT/Deathblock)
Boots: Generic Feather Fall or Epic Kundarak Delving Boots (with Feather Falling)
Gloves: Gloves of the Glacier
Ring1: Tumbleweed
Ring2: Generic +6 CHA
Weapon1: Epic Green Blade
Weapon2: Superior Potency VI

It is missing the slots updates of the Epic items. But I guess I will make then to give the generic items +6 stats or properties (and replace those generic items by other things).

Goggle: Epic Spectacles of Spirit Sight
Many forums talk about this being the best place for your 1`st Greensteel Item. I agree I use the following-
+300 sp, +7Cha skills, 1x Raise Dead,Disruption gard goggles.

Helmet: Generic +6 WIS or Minus (if stacks, not sure if it does)
Why +6 wis, make is a +6 CHA hat and free up a ring man, this is helpfull :)

Neck: Epic Torc of Prince Raiyum-de II
Thats a no brainer

Trinket: Xachosian Eardweller
My understanding is this is a clicky only? if so great to have but in the meantime why not head of good fortune from the reaver raid, +2 luck on all.

Armor: Quorforged Docent of Battle
While this is great, I would argue that getting this is better if it fits into your build: Red Dragonscale Docent +6 Enhancement Bonus Reinforced Plating +3, Superior Fire, Eternal Fire, Superior Combustion VIIISuperior Combustion VIII, Superior Fire Lore, Fire Guard, Incineration Guard

Cloak: Stormreaver's Napkin
Why do you want this, for the +1 DC's? You can get this in many ways or by switching out a wepon

Wrist: Generic +6 STR
I actually love my Med guild slot necromancy focus ones that add 140 Spell points :) Large guild slots can add 40 sp more!
Belt: Greensteel (Blindness Immunity/+50SP/+2excINT/Deathblock)

Boots: Generic Feather Fall or Epic Kundarak Delving Boots (with Feather Falling)

Gloves: Gloves of the Glacier

Ring1: Tumbleweed

Ring2: Generic +6 CHA
Dont forget epic ring of spell storing for extra mana :)
Weapon1: Epic Green Blade
Weapon2: Superior Potency VI

Skyvault shield with DR reduction items can help you generate mana from your Torc as well, dont forget them its worth trying when your in need :)The Skyvault shield is a tower shield with 0% spell failure.

You seem like an in between kinda' player. You don't want to live in the game in order to have every perfect item. You also dont want to be gimp.

My favorite item in this game is the Torc (http://ddowiki.com/page/Torc_of_Prince_Raiyum-de_II).

It's not terribly hard to get and if your going to have to grind for something....this would be my choice.

It would also help to give your toons name and server so we could look him up.

What other ways can you get +1 to ALL spell DCs?

Actually for most hardcore players they do not use the cloak anymore. What they do is get +2 or +3 dc items and then slap a +1 dc into an epic slot where needed. I would actually recommend the epic docent of Diabolist for its +3 conjuration dc, epic spectral sight for +2 necro and enchantment dc and a +2 evocation dc crafted item. I then would add +1 to transmutation dcs in an epic slot somewhere. Dcs are important even on a wf sorc.

Edit: yes I should follow this advice myself and throw an epic docent of diabolist and get a crafted +2 evocation dc item made, but have not gotten around to it.

Ah, okay... well I got the epic docent, but I doubt I'll ever get the spectacles of sight... I don't bother with desert epics... too many items, I don't have that kind of time to hunt after ONE item in the desert.

I do switch to +2 enchantment dreamsplitter when I'm casting CC... I guess I could get that +2 necro scepter.

Wyl, while nowhere near completed, is slowly crawling towards being geared. I only have a couple objections to some of the other posts.

Rings: Savant ring of choice, any paladin ring (for +6 str and +1 exc cha. Much better than a tumbleweed, imo). +2 exc con and cha on them.

Cloak: If air savant, go for the Epic Cloak of the Zephyr - afaik, only source of superior lightning lore. Grab the Epic Helm of Frost from chrono for the +7 cha. Toughness and heavy fort can be slotted on to epic items if need be.

Gloves: Conc opp HP gloves here. Unless You have found a pale lavender ioun stone, in which case you can put this in the boot slot - you don't want to switch this out in ToD, but if you have a good spell absorption then you don't need ToD boots.

Weapon - Find and grab a Staff of the Petitioner. Use it. Love it. It effectively multiplies your sp pool by 110%, and comes with a bonus +2 to necro and enchant DCs.

If you aren't an air savant, then you can ignore the cloak advice. The eCloak of the Silver Concord is great (+3 umd ftw), but superior lightning lore is a huge DPS booster when most spells you use are electric based.

With the exception of the Torc, which is a work in progress (ie farming the hell outta eADQ atm lol) this is what I'm running with currently on my water savant, and I'm very happy with it

Helm: Greensteel, Mineral II, +45 HP, Heavy Fort
Goggles: Greensteel, Negative II (immunities, deathblock)
Necklace: Epic Torc of Prince Raiyum de II
Docent: Quorforged Docent of Battle (unsuppressed)
Bracers: Greensteel, Stalemate II (Will +5, +300 SP, Con Op)
Belt: Telvi's Sash (Water Savant TOD Set)
Ring 1: Water Savant TOD Ring with Greater Glaciation VIII upgrade
Ring 2: Ring of Thelis (not totally sold on this but till i get something better meh)
Weapon 1: Epic Ornamented Dagger (tier 3) with Feather Falling upgrade
Weapon 2: Greensteel, Stalemate II Dagger (+3 Exceptional CHA, Con Op)
Cloak: Stormreaver's Napkin
Boots: Striding 30% Boots of Springing +10 with medium guild slot (+15 HP or +160 SP) (you do NOT wanna know how much I paid for those!)
Trinket: Greater Stalwart Trinket (swapped with crafted Greater Spell Focus trinkets as I feel necessary)

I wouldnt mind different bracers (the extra con op and SP is nice but I could live without it if I get my hands on something with more badassery)

I'd also like to get an epic red dragonscale docent but I have many many many many many more eVONs before that happens.

I could live without the immunity goggles (being WF you dont need poison/disease, and blindness can be dealth with, the fear immunity and deathblock is **** nice tho) there just isnt much else to replace it with.

The new Epic Blademarks Docent is another pretty sweet docent, now its actually far better than the upgraded Quorforged - DR 5/epic, Lifeshield, Superior False Life +40, then stick a +6 CON in the colorless slot (or a +1 exceptional) and Toughness in the Blue slot. (i dont count the AC bonuses like reinforced plating cuz...meh) and you're golden.
