question about feats

I can't find how to train feats. I am level 4 and expected to be able to choose a new feat when it dinged. I went to the trainer and all they have is enhancements. I then went to the character sheet and went to the feats tab. I can't find where I have trained or can train a feat. I really feel like I am missing something really simple. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

you choose your feats on levelup, otherwise you cant levelup

Thanks. Your guess would be correct. I am on a path. I really feel now like I should have chosen my own feats. I suppose I can leave the path.
