There's no direct equivalent. Some information about what you enjoy about a Shadow Knight could help pick the best substitute.

well I always play tanking class (bother play a healer (cleric like) and his GF always play some pure DPS caster.
I can't remember of a single pure melee tank that I enjoyed. I just like to have some flexibility and the pure melee gameplay in msot MMo seem to be boring to me. pressing auto attack + 1 or 2 skill like shield bash or kick isn,t that fun to me.
I like when I can have some tools to play with. SK often have a pet or some life leech spell wich I enjoy, as well as nice debuffing tools and curse.
Well what are the "tanking" class of DDo ? I guess that pure fighter builded for defence is one as well as paladin but their is anythign else ? like maybe a Fighter/mage ?
I could maybe try a paladin but I,ve always felt tht paly were only a fighter with some very very weak spells and bether saves vs some type of spells and fear immunity. You don,t realy find yourself using a lot fo spell while fighting.

So in that case you should try Paladin or Monk, or more weirdly Bard or FVS.

DDO's Paladins do cast Divine Sacrifice frequently during battle, and also Smite and some cures and such.
Monks have a lot long list of active abilities they use during battle than Paladins do, but both of them will almost continuously press active attacks during important fights.

but is either monk or bard can tank ?
I find it weird that D and D series hven,t included yet a SK like class.

DDO classes offer alot of versitility and a pure tank is often not required. The paladin can tank quite well if built right. You may possibly want to splash class. With hate tanking eaiser in update5 it seems to make them even more viable.

Well, the list of 9 primary player classes in D&D does not include a Shadow Knight or anything along that theme.
Dark-Mystic-Knight is a common thing introduced by many D&D-clone game worlds, but has never been a big part of the original game.

Paladin would be more new-player-friendly than Monk. You can for instance find some Paladin tank build here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=232660

IMHO sounds like ranger may be a good fit. You can cast a few spells, one includes a pet, you can heal (with wands), and excellent tanking as in pulling aggro with DPS. Don't confuse ranger with just bows, in DnD/DDO you can build with higher strength and get many bonuses to using two weapons. Any melee build can successfully "debuff" using the sunder feat.
Good luck in whatever you do.

Any class in DDO can "tank" if you build and equip it accordingly.
Class-levels are just bricks to construct your character with. If you want a Shadowknight-themed character, write down what abilities you want this char to have, then people here can give you a build which will perform these roles. As far as that is possible, you cant have max.DPS and max.AC on the same build, everything has tradeoffs.
There is no Egglaying Woolmilkswine in DDO.
From what you posted earlier, i´d recommend you to take a look at this kind of build: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=205149
And look at Brainslap here in this thread, for a Tactics build who controls monsters through Improved Trip and Stunning Blow (which both are very effective ways to "tank" if you spec for it) http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=214975
