How successful have you all found this to be? Granted, yes, we'd prefer a recruit who actually reads the forums as this could be indicative of more in-depth knowledge of the game than those who don't, but it seems a very small percentage of players actually get on here. Maybe General Discussion or Class but probably not server-specific.
Just scan down at the number of views of each thread....generate a quick median in your head, and then consider that a small percentage of those are possibly non-affiliated.

i have found my general demeanor on the forums has been very helpful in keeping the number of people requesting to join loot down. It is working quite well for me.
We've gotten quite a few recruits from here. Not as many as just sending out a recruit message in general chat, but the percentage that have stuck with us has been higher for those recruited here.

There are 2 ways my guild has always recruited: Word of mouth, and in the forums. As of 6 months ago, we were 2 players, now we are over 100 and rank 14 in size on the server, #23 for renown. Forum recruiting is our #1 way of recruiting. Always remember, Quality of Quantity and get yourself some forums.
