barbarian power rage question

not that there is no consistency to the way information is presented in DDO, but....


Barb power rage says this

"When raging, you gain an additional +1 Strength"

the second power rage says this

"When raging, you gain an additional +2 Strength"

the third and 4th say +3 and +4.

In most cases where this is a simple progression, DDO implies a 'total' of +4.
However, this is not the case here. It clearly says 'additional strength' and does not say '+1' for each additional to add to 4..

So, is this just a case of very poor quality control or does the enhancement actually add +10 strength? (+1, +2, +3, +4 = +10)

No the enhancment line power rage only gives a maxiumum of +4 with an addional +4 from rage ability at lvl 1. A total of +8 rage then with level up and capstone (though might be changed) is +12 atm.

I thought it was rage +4, greater rage +2 (for +6 so far) and enhancements for +4(+10) and Mighty rage for +2(+12)

No he was just asking if the power rage line was giving a total of 10: +1 from first, +2 from second, +3 from 3rd, and +4 from the fourth which gives +10 which isnt right because what hes prolly thinking that a barbs strength at 20 would add +4 from rage at lvl 1, +2 from capstone, and +2 from greater rage. which would b +18 rage.lol

Even on my tr barbarian i dont even have that lol and at lvl 12 so far i only get a +14 rage.

Actually it's:
Rage +4, greater rage +2, Mighty Rage +2, Power Rage IV (enhancements) +4, Barbarian Might (Capstone) +2, Frenzy +2, Death Frenzy +4 and if you really go all the way, Barbarian Past Life Feat for another +4 on your normal rages and another +4 for your 30 seconf special extra rage.

Grand Total = +24 (+28 for 30 seconds)

I was referring strictly to the barb rage granted feats, and the power rage the op's question referenced.

Adding capstone would be +2? Or is the capstone an all the time str increase? My barbs were/are both splashes so i dont know bout the capstone.

This would give +14 when clicking rage. Then you can start adding all the rest of the clickies :D

I just look at my strength on the character sheet, rage, frenzy, death frenzy, clickie ,clickie ,gulp, clickie, madstone, clickie, and look at sheet again. Awesome........ :D

Ahh I see... then yes you are correct, a lvl 20 pure barbarian with power rage IV gets +12 Str for his rage (without past life feat).

Although I have no idea why you would'nt want to get the frenzied berserker line currently. I guess it depends on how deeply multi-classed you are?

Anyway, to answer your question... Yes the capstone is a +2 Str all the time. Currently +2 Str is the ONLY thing the capstone is good for... the 10% attack speed bug is now fixed and the capstone's buff to glancing blows has apparently never worked. Even if the GB buff worked it has a lesser use now that THf don't get moving GB's

For example, you have gloves that give +6 STR and your Rage gives you +10 STR. Would you get a total of +16 to your STR while raging?

That is correct... you would have +16 Str in your example. At the same time you probably would have frenzy and/or death frenzy and those str boosts would stack as well.

For instance a high level (let's use a capstoned dwarf barb), well geared barbarian would have a sustainable strenth that looks like this:

Total............. 33

Barbarian Rage
