I have been surfing he DDO site and I continue to see post that are dated back to 2006. My Question is why are thy still there, don't you have some one who is cleaning up the Board or is DDO just keeping them there to make the Site look bigger then it is?

Why does it matter honestly ? Some of the guides , walkthroughs etc..... are on some of these probably

Because

1) It takes a LOT of effort to sort out forum garbage.
2) Some threads are STILL useful even if they were 3 years old.
3) No one has time to sort our old, useless, posts.

They did a purge a while ago. It was generally agreed to be "a necessary evil". I don't foresee another one for some time.

Or as a way to get rid of all the threads bemoaning the fact that Turbine went nearly a year withtout putting any new content out for DDO.

SEMPER,
Why does it matter honestly ?

It matters due to the info that was given is outdated and been fixed or is gone from the game.

yep some of them are very few and most of the guilds that posted are gone. Hay thanks for your response tho

Why does it matter who posted it and if that guild isn't here anymore , and who in the hell looks back to 2006 for old posts unless its linked in someones signature and they are there for a reason ..... pretty sure they have better things to do then wipe all the whining and sobbing threads like this one off of the forums

Theres a option in User CP how far in history should you see.
Use it.
And stop whining.
You dont want to read them, then dont.

So what your saying i guess is that when you read on the internet it is ABSOLUTE FACT...and that you cannot be bothered to look at the post date. Um kay. Oh and note the post above......the one about UserCP history setting. Um yeah......

And for some of us...we are still here from then...and dont want it gone....there is no reason to erase history.....unless your just trying to hide something.....

We keep Tolero and Tarrant much too busy cleaning up after us in current threads to clean up old ones.

It's important for archival and research purposes to not remove people's hard work and posts. You never know when you'll want to find this stuff.

Why aren't we erasing all those books about History? Most of that stuff isn't around anymore anyway right? You are just trying to make books look bigger aren't you?

The old threads aren't hurting anyone. The people who necro the old threads deserve to die horribly.

THey are there because ther eis no good reason to get rid of them.

Most of the "Old" posts are absolutely still relavant in some form of fashion. SOmetimes not 100% up to date, but at least searve as a comparision tool to what is going on today.
