We have resolved the downgrade issue. You may need to log out and back into the game for the changes to take effect. If you are still experiencing problems with your account state, please contact the account support team. Thank you for your patience, and we'll see you in game!
We are aware of an issue that has caused some Premium players to be downgraded to Free status. We do apologize that this issue has happened again. We are working to resolve this issue (now and more permanently), and will post when we have an update. You do not need to submit an inquiry in order for your account to be fixed.
I am happy to assure you that you do not need to delete any characters if you would like to play in the interim. Simply select the 2 that you want to play tonight, and any other characters will remain on the account, you just won't be able to use them. Once the issue is resolved, you will have access to those characters again.
Please do not open new threads about this issue. You may post in this thread.

Sigh, Again we are downgraded. Last time after sending a ticket it was fixed rather quickly. So I reqomend, submit your tickets ppl.

That post is out of date, which is why I have started this sticky. You do not need to post or submit a ticket to be fixed. We are working to fix all affected accounts.

Hiya.
The wife and I play on Sarlona. Everytime (it seems) you "Update" she gets this downgrade bug... Please fix it its doing nothing to help family harmony ROFL!

Just to note that this time it has at least remembered the purchases I made from the store - extra slots, races, etc, so it's just the annoyance of 2 unavailable characters, and restricted posting in the forums.
Hopefully next mod won't downgrade me at all :)

Got also downgraded again, but that is at moment not my biggest issue. My Level 4 Wizard is trapped now, I preferred to lock out with low level characters between the two buildings in the harbour near the mailbox and the auctioneer on exactly that spot where now the Airship Showroom is, I still stand there, but I can't leave that spot (where do I report this, it seems neither an account issue nor a technical)?

This is getting old! I know you just added new content, but, I am getting tired...very tired...this is the 5th time for me.
After the last time, over a week, we didn't even receive any compensation!
If this game is going that way,(all about short term gains), then I will be packing my bags.
As to the compensation question: why not? Adding points to a players account costs you NOTHING!!!
It gains you Thank Yous, and Happy players.
Someone dropped the ball BIG TIME!!!
I'll be looking for a new way to waste my money, in future, thanks, DDO!

Good to hear that you guys are aware of the issue and working on it, Hopefully I can get back to all 4 of my characters on Sarlona soon :)

Hopefully it won't be another week of downtime for me. I am over the cash limit on my characters and it makes no sense to play at all if I can't sell my loot.

downgraded again...I understand that mistakes happen, things get overlooked etc etc. But for this type of thing to keep happening...something needs to be done. I own and run my own business and if I had something like this happen once or twice sure my customers would be upset but for the most part they would stick with me. But if I allowed it to keep happening I would offer some recompense or face losing my customers. My question now is, what are you going to do?

Thats just great!! I got downgraded last time for almost 2 weeks, DDO apologized for the mix-up by upgrading the loot for that time period, unfortunately I could not use the AH because of the downgrade. Thanks for not compensateing those that were inconvenienced the most DDO.

Count my account as one of those that is affected (again) by this bug that we were told less than 4 weeks ago was squashed.
I sure hope it takes less than 7-10 days this time to apply a "more permanent" fix.
I wonder if/when an actual permanent fix will be applied.

sweet again same choice what to do raids on my high lvl and get them ready to TR or exploit exp on lowbies. yup lowbies i didnt selece i would like that we , who once again got proble premium => f2p, get exp pots or something so we can get xp bonus like everyone else
and I did fill up the forme like last time

Well if you solved it and it happens again, some of you are in the wrong job, maybe all of you.
I have a suggestion:
Change the name of your Upgrades to Downgrades.

I think the devs were in too much of a hurry to load up the "Update", as it was only in Beta for 3 weeks, or so...
And, to prove it, half the "updated" stuff doesn't work..A/H is gimped, the change in the coin windows has a lot of people thinking platinum is gold...lol, renown is a wash..2 or 3 of the "new quests" are kyboshed...need I add more??
Well I will!! What happened to the connection icon??? Why would you remove such a useful, informative item?? Please, inquiring minds want to know!!!
Please, DDO, TAKE YOUR TIME, next time!!!! Get it right the 1st time, and all of us will be ever so happy!!!

And no doubt once "the root cause has been resolved", again, we can look forward to another example of Turbine's outstanding customer service: an insincere e-form letter thanking us for our patience.
I can only imagine how many more of these types of issues lay ahead when Jeff Junge tells his branch manager, Piaz, to start trimming staff to improve Turbine's bottom line.
Okay, yes I'm cranky and being too harsh, maybe, but I know after I finish my morning coffee I will still be unable to play my locked out toons and enjoy the 20% XP bonus.

Can't you get the third parties to communicate better?
I'm sorry for all those affected, I know your pain.
You are missing out on 20% XP boost on those affected toons as well. But all you can expect is "Sorry for the inconvenience" and not another word from them.
Just FIX it once and for all!!

So, all of my auctions are selling now, of course, and I am over my gold limit... Since I opened one of those emails, it will only last for four more days now, and I can't get the gold out of it. I am going to be rather angry if I lose a large batch of coin because of this. Also, of course, my AH in game mails back of expired auctions have... no items in them.

In addition to this issue reoccurring, all my expired auctions in the AH are not returning my items. And I can't post in the thread regarding that topic cause I've been downgraded. I thought valve was bad with updates but **** this company has made a horrible impression on me in the one month I've been using this "turbine" software. I hope the 200$+ I've spent since I started playing a month ago wasn't wasted in the payroll of those responsible. I'll assume it went toward marketing or server upkeep for peace of mind.

it should be noted that a premium player who buys the big points bundle has just spent more than the cost of 3 months of VIP status.
(not that I spend that much on TP, which is why I don't complain that much when problems such as these arise... as long as turbine acknowledges the problem and tells me they are working on it I am fairly happy).

Thank you for posting an acknowledgement of the problem. I am downgraded again as well.
Please give an ETA on when this problem will be fixed, and let us know how you will compensate the downgraded players.
I do spend money on this game, and I feel I just as much a paying costumer as a VIP.

I'm glad to hear you are aware of and working on the issue...but weren't you aware of and working on the issue the last time it happened, and the time before that as well? It took me weeks to get upgraded back to premium last time, I certainly hope for a more speedy resolution this time, since hopefully you know what the problem was last time and are able to fix it.

been waitin 2 days on this bug report...how the hell do you offer 2 more character slots and then downgrade an account from premium to free? accounts should never even be able to be downgraded to any status only upgraded...fix this this has got to be fixed today...clearly i have 4 out of 2 characters and 2 greyed out its not that hard to realize that im not a "free" account oh and logging out and back in isnt even solving the problem either

Although I have been downgraded I have a slightly different question, how do we fix our accounts so this doesn't happen again? Should we change our payment methods? Clearly something in the data is flagging us, what can we as users do to change this flag?

Ah thank you for restoring the Wifes account once more!
On reflection I can't think what more the Dev team could have done? You Beta Tested the update for about a month on Lama after (I presume) internal Alpha testing for who knows how long?
I for one feel for you all that the **** thing threw so many rods when it hit the live servers after being reasonably stable in Lama (Yes I know there were bugs spotted and reported that apparently were not caught there)
Maybe the lesson here is:- "Don't hype an update quite so much until its Live!" Then after its working (repeat - Working!) post a few articles so nobody misses just how cool its new features are?? Also if your a bit cooler about things then if the Beta catches bugs that really require a reschedule of the update your not under such pressure to "get it out on Time!!" as you would be if you had advertised it for three weeks or so?
Now rant over ;) Thanks Dev guys - especially those that pulled extra shifts for this.....

When this happens again, next time they patch or update, we'll know it was a symptom squash, just like last time it happened and was "resolved."
I didn't bother to log in after the patch, for this reason.
