House Deneith had been home, since ma had moved inner city, life outside the walls of Stormreach was not easy. Raiding orcs and bugbears, have since my granda's age roved unchecked through the ruined plains. I lost count of the folk we saw fleeing orcs and fell beasts, seeking haven in Stormreach. How a city of this many feeds itself would amaze were it not for the abundance of magic in the city, it fair seethes with it.

Deneith is a comfort, and were it not for the Cannith works that run through that quarter, it seems from a simpler time. I lost my youth young, in the run through the hills. What started as a careful guarded expedition to the safety of city walls, had led to a rout with families abandoning carts and cattle, grabbing the smallfolk, and running while the men tried at times to turn and harrass pursuit.

Ma took work at an inn, and she being a weavers daughter, was not without some skill of value. She apprenticed me to a company of warriors in Deneith, not affiliated with the family of house Deneith, but with some stout followers of the sovereign host, serving mercenary and for hire duties to Deneith, and their various campaigns.

A scrape with the syndicate left me wary of finding work with the flow of merchant companies frequenting the marketplace. Some call there was among the host to quell the questionable alliances of the syndicate, many of whom had dealings with some of the raiding tribes that so frequently harried the city. By my reckoning the surrounds of Stormreach were so wild in large part due to the wildness within.

There were more than myself in House Deneith that felt thus, no less so among the host.
