How good is it? Does the blindness mess up agro for tanks using it?

How good is it? Er... Well, let me describe what it can do. :)

Radiance Guard
Deals Light Damage at around a 20% proc rate. So 1 in 5 hits will trigger it. It only does a little damage, roughly 4d4 light damage or something like that. So it's not going to stop enemies dead. But it is light damage, so it's "virtually" unblockable damage. Currently, the only thing I can think of that is immune to this light damage is Golems, and one or two Undead (Wizard King primarily).

The other effect of Radiance Guard, is Blindness effect. Those that trigger the light damage, will also become blinded unless they are immune to being blinded. Which thankfully is the majority of the things that you face. When enemies are blinded, whenever they try to hit you, it is treated like you have "displacement", so there is a 50% chance that they will miss automatically.

Whether those effects are good for you, that's for you to determine. It's not great for all builds, but certainly useful for some. :)

Makes monsters sneak-able and saves you from many occasions of club-to-the-face due to the monsters missing blindly.

I run with a buddy that has Radiance guard on his FvS. I like to yell into chat to let the mobs hit the FvS first so they get blinded hehe. Not sure he likes that though lol. But I am seriously thinking about grinding out my fighters DT armor to get that guard just watching how much it procs.

I like it on my barb. DOD+intimdate+shaken+blind works well.

My rogue has Radiance Guard and a Radiance rapier. For a rogue, that's a particularly deadly combination, especially when you are in a group of orthons or devils like like to cleave everyone :)

It's an extremely powerful effect, but is currently bugged.

Foes suffering any sort of blindness (including from Radiance or other sources) that are Held, Stoned, Stunned, Earthgrabbed or otherwise immobilized or incapacitated will move around randomly. It looks hilarious, but is quite irritating as it reduces the ability of the party to kill held foes before the hold effect expires.

Were it not for this bug, I'd say Radiance Guard would be one of the best defensive effects in the game on low-AC builds (i.e. on most melees). With this bug, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks in most situations, but there's times you'll hate it.

Xy'zzy is immune, and the little dogs are hardy enough to take 14 damage here and there, and if they get blinded, the first Mass Heal after they are charmed cures it.

I'm not certain, but the Immunity on Xy'zzy says Immune to Weapon Proc's but I don't know if that's supposed to cover guard proc's on accessories. If it doesn't, then it will still cause (minor) problems.

ok just wondering how hard/rare is this item to obtain i think its a constructed item but what does it require then? I want to get it for my future class but no idea how to lol

I made a greensteel item. I don't rember the skill I took but it does add hit points or you could take spell points. It is also a double shard meaning you need 2 suprime shards and need to imbue each shard with the ingrediants then combine both shards before adding that shard to the item.

Just select an item slot you want to fill with a greensteel item and make sure the upgrade is set for the alter of devestation then select go.

The next screen will give you a bunch of effects you can add to your item. In the far right near the bottom you will find radiance guard listed.

Just select that and it will give you choices that you HAVE to take to be able to make that item. Once you have selected all the choices for the guard, at the bottom of that selection panel is "how do I make this item." Click that and it will show you what you have to do for each step.

Not a huge deal.

Did it on elite the other day and our intimitank was wearing the epic vambraces.

Didn't even notice the difference to be honest, me being the healer I was watching the whole thing.
