Nope, Im upstate NY and was one of the last standing in a DQ epic that was riddled with DC's. No rhyme or reason to this one, unless we wanna get the pitch forks and make an angry mob? :D

I would like to thank Arraetrikos for being a good sport and also going linkdead while we were bashing him, however.
Our group had him at 25% when one cleric DCed and the other one (me) got hit with so much lag I couldn't see anything.
We'd have wiped for sure if Harry had kept attacking us, but he was a good sport and just stood there and died.

So because of these ****** server conditions, I'm losing a good friend. He bought a friend of his a pass for the Sands, but the DC's wasted over half of it, and from the treatment the GM he contacted about it gave him, he's none too happy.

Puddle, I've seen you in game. Your very first post on the forums and it's this. That's terrible man. Wish I could see a screenshot of the convo with the GM.

He said it was something like
"You guys have given me items, fixed quests, I know you can give me the pass back."
"Sorry, no can do. Take it up with accounting"
And then it goes on to where my friend is saying he's going to stop paying to play, and quit the game, and the GM basically said "Go ahead". That's a bright thing, telling a customer to stop paying. /sarcasm

Nope. I'm in NYC and was one of two people who never DCed in my Invasion run last night. The other was in Memphis.
I know that at least one person in the group was in eastern Canada (EST).

Anyone else having problems with the forums? I dunno if my net is being dodgy (other pages load fine though) or what? Every so often I can't load a page.

The forum servers seem to be an issue fact be ... all of turbine sites seem to have some latency.
Personally if I were Turbine I'd wipe the drives clean, bloody delete it all (possibly even the people on the other ends of these keyboards too.)

Even tho your friend was inappropriate for doing the whole nerd-ragequit thing, the GM was obviously supposed to be above that kind of response.
A PM to Sparker with the time/GMs name should put that info in the right hands to be looked at. (I believe Sparker is still top dog with the GMs, anyway.)
Just remember - if/when they look at the log, they will be looking at the ENTIRE interaction, and if your friend was radically out of line, that sword may have two edges.
[To clarify - I am NOT saying the GM should or shouldn't have replaced the item. Am just giving an option to follow up on the alledged non-professional response(s).]

When they release U5 they will turn the lag back down a bit so they can claim all the nerfs are a good thing.

Yeah, good thing for us that Harry DCed as well.
Numot isn't carrying as many pots as he used to. Epic DQ2s have been expensive lately.

Oh I fully realize that, and my friend is not known to keep his words in check when he's raging, and he's pretty fed up with the server conditions (I believe he thinks the people and stuff are okay, but the hardware not to be, etc) and how Turbine seemingly doesn't give a dirty kobold about it, and that GM's reaction was his last straw.

ToD was especially bad about 10 hours ago. No DC's but a lot of people thought they had DC'd for several seconds.

It has been bad, but it may have more to do with the fact that i'm back from my self appointed hiatus as well. In all seriousness, it hasn't been great, but we still haven't hit the level of 2 years ago yet. THAT was the one time I remember the devs even admitting that 1) there was a lag issue 2) it had a negative effect on gameplay and 3) they had no clue as to what the problem was. Daily server restarts and oh my that was so much fun running from tha tavern in GH to the bank in a miniscule 1-5 minutes. THAT was lag...

did hound last night (aussie time). there was a bit of lag moving through the subterrane, but it was ok once we actually got inside.
crucible before thet was fine too.
and aussies cant have good internet game latency/non existant lag issues. that's like against internet rules.

Here is something that makes sense, but Turbine denies:
Logging in at peak time, I get a nice delay and some stuttering. Logging in right after the servers are back up...a lot faster to finish logging in.
To me, that screams "Hardware is struggling with too many players". Anyone else notice this?
