I am currently Premium player with four adventure packs. If I upgrade to VIP for 1 month (or 3 months, or whatever), will I still have these packs when subscription ends and I revert to Premium?

No. Unless you purchase them with TP while you are VIP.

ANy packs you previously purchased will always stay with you after you revert back to premium

Hmm... Two diametrically opposite answers so far.

We both are saying the same. The answer to your question is NO.

Packs you buy with TP at any point in time will be yours for good. Stuff you have from being VIP is yours for the time you are VIP and no longer yours once you are no longer VIP. That's what both posts are saying.

You cannot purchase Adventure Packs while a VIP, but any points you earn can be used to buy the packs when you revert to Premium.

Once you have those packs, you will not lose access to them on that account, but you cannot access anything that you have not purchased.

For example, if you use your points to purchase Sorrowdusk Isle after you have reverted to a Premium account, you will always have access to Sorrowdusk, but not, for example, Tangleroot Gorge, unless you use points to purchase it as well.

He was asking if he got to keep the four packs he already did buy with points...to which the proper answer is YES given what you (and everyone else) are saying. Just a case of confusion.

And yes is the correct answer, I can attest to it both from game experience and from several posts about what happens when upgrading/downgrading by devs. If you go VIP for a stint you still keep what you had before should you revert. Done it a couple times myself.

Man I critically failed my reading comprehension check on the OP's question by omitting the first of the 2 sentences. I'm really sorry.

I was 90% sure that VIP's can buy adventure packs with the new "show me everything" option in the ddo store. Or at least are supposed to be able to. Or at the very least Turbine supposedly wants VIP's to theoretically be able to buy adventure packs while their subscription is still running but Turbine aren't even sure if it's working the way they originally wanted it to.

Yeah, I always forget about that. I'm used to not being able to purchase packs you have access to, which in the case of being VIP is all. :)

Last I checked, you could not purchase any dungeon packs while you are VIP. The logic behind this is to keep those who are VIP, and addicted to impulse shopping, spending money. In my case, I thought, "well I will just stay VIP long enough to save up enough points to buy all the dungeon packs". This doesn't really work because I'm always finding things I need throughout the month, so I spend those TPs (not all of them but you get my idea) before the month is up. This puts me in a perpetual state of staying forever VIP. *sigh*

This is no longer true. Adventure packs can be purchased while VIP now.

I deserve that neg rep for my 1st post no doubt, but for the 2nd posting as well, really? Guess I learned a lot from this thread, the final lesson being not to complain about neg rep for such a post is calling out loud for even more of it.

brian14, let me apologise once again for misunderstanding your question when I somehow ignored the 1st of the 2 sentences in your OP.

there is nothing wrong with trying to help, and while you misinterpreted the question your answer contained no false info
