Quest Question: Redemption

In one of the very early quests 'Redemption' you have to go to the Cannith Manufactury. There is a part in this level where on top of some barrels there is a ladder that leads into a magical barrier. Also in the final room there is a door above you just out of reach that you can open. They seem to lead to the same room. What is this and why isn't it accessible? Thanks :)

A long time ago in a DDO so far away that was part of another quest which they re-used when they introduced Korthos from my understanding of it.

oh i guess that would make sense. it just frustrates me when i know its there but i cant get to it haha.
