I completed 1-4, did VON 5-6, it's been a week or so... but I can't get back into VON 5... and I can't abandon the Marek quest to get the Laughing Knives back together, so I can't even redo it with 1-4

Not sure if your situation and therefore bug was the same as mine. Try fixing it by either abandoning the vons 1-4 that are showing as NOT completed and then trying Barrow the dwarf again OR if none are showing as uncompleted then abandoning them all one-by-one while standing by Barrow and watching for the blue circled chalice as you do.
Hope that helps. :)

Me and my guildie ran into this, and when i talked with a Gm i was told to abandon all the quests and try to re flag. This of course irritated me, but my guildie ran with me and re flagged only to find the same problem. Check von 5 and see if it is completed, if it is abandon it and go talk to borrow, at that point you should be fine if you had not flagged for it since you completed the quest before said change to flagging. That was my issue at least.

If its the same as what happened to me, i just had to go back and make sure 1-4 were showing as completed, after i did the dragon i re took one of the quests ( pt 3 to farm xp ) and ended up not completing a run or just acidently repeating it, once i had em all flagged as complete i was good to go.
Little unclear i guess, basically if you have any of them not completed ( by either abandoning any of them or repeating them without completing them ) complete them and see if that works.

Happened to me tonight. GM had me abandon von series...now I need to run the 4 flag quests again. I've seen it happen to others and now it happened to me. Very irritating!

I fixed it by not running VON anymore. My life in DDO is ever so much easier now.

What happened to me was that despite what they said about not needing to reflag if you had done it before.....I had to reflag.
Once, then wait three days and it seemed fine.
So if this is a char that has not reflagged sine the change, I bet he has to reflag one time.
I did not have to abandon it or do anything weird.
I did have another char abandon it though, when I was trying to figure it all out....and have not verified that I did not screw something up with him.
I also talked to Merik at some point during all of this before reflagging.
Just to restate what I think.
If the char has not done VON 1-4 since the change, he may need to do them again to retake VON5.
Talking to Marek the first time sine the change, will give a quest completion (for chars who were on VON 5 anyway) There is no reason to ever talk to Merik again as far as I know.
You can do 1-4 in any order now. Simply take the quest from the quest giver.
Then talk to Barrow when you have done all four.
After doing this one time since the update, you should not have to do anything except talk to Barrow every three days.
If this does not work, then I am at a loss as to what to do.

This has happened to me before. I had to reset and flag an additional time after already flagging and running VoN since the change. Something is still screwed up with VoN flagging, and its really freaking annoying.

Found this to be the best working solution, too. Besides one or twice when leveling up. Where reflagging isnt a mind-numbing grindy timesink.

Ever since they made it so we don't have to run Von 1-4 my toons have been locked out of Von 5 & 6. I have tried all the suggestions and even contacted a DM. He told me this was a known bug and the Dev team would eventually fix it. U5 is almost hear and I doubt it will be fixed. Looks like I won't be running VON until I TR.
