I'm an old geezer I guess...

I'm seeing more and more posts where people use "u" instead of you, and "b" instead "be"... Seriously? You can't write "be"?

Now get off my lawn, you **** kids!

Use a whole sentence too!

I get one word tells out of the blue from strangers all the time because I lead groups/post LFMs.

Just because you and your guildy had a thorough conversation in Ventrillo doesn't mean I learned ESP or know who/what you are.

I usually skip posts that have atrocious spelling or layout. It saves me time and if enough people do it those people will never have a voice unless they adapt.

Truth is not spelling words out completely hides the fact that many of these people cant spell. That is one that drives me crazy. Nevermind the gramatical errors.

I teach freshman composition and a few other related courses, and I don't know how many essays I've handed back with comments on what I call a kids 'text-speak' in typed form. It drives me crazy.

On any forum or online mode of communication, I try to be more relaxed. I still cringe when I see a wall of text full of comma splices and sentence fragments. I get a twitch in my left eye when I see people mixing up there, their and they're or were and we're. (It's a contraction, people. We are = we're. Sheesh.) But I do my best to ignore it.

Now if they were sitting in my classroom....muwhahaha!

I know the feeling. I taught a Junior Year Writing course in my political science department, and these problems still plague third-year undergrads, not just freshmen. Makes me wish I could hit people with rulers. :)

OMG, IDK what U R talking about. Give it 20 yrs and we will all B using computer shorthand 4 every day speech. As for myself, if I somehow manage to avoid carpal tunnel from playing this game, I will be immensely surprized.
