I have most of this already planned out. Three levels of paladin. (I know some people disagree with that third level, but I like the +1 to AC and saves for two AP, plus the immunities) Twelve-ish levels of either fighter (kensei II) focused on combat feats or ranger (tempest II) with casting ability. And the remainder rogue, for the skills of course.
What I'm looking for is advice on the order in which to take these levels, and reasoning for any particular split between rogue and melee. If you want to suggest a more radical change, like say going with 12 rogue, well I'll listen but I probably won't follow the advice.
Oh, and since I still haven't gotten enough favor (damned altitis) for 32 point builds, this will be a drow in case anyone cares.

If I was to do it I would go:
Rogue 1
Pally 2-4
Rogue 5
Then take your fighter or ranger levels to 6. After that you can judge when you want your rogue levels based on your skills levels. If you are still ok with your thieving skills then keep going with your main class, if they are lacking, take a level of rogue to catch them back up.

Thanks! That seems to be what a lot of the batman based builds do, but several of the of the links I tried to follow were dead and the most recent I found had 14 as the level cap, so I was wondering if it was still current thinking.
Thinking on it more, I've decided that the ranger would be simply spread too thin, stat-wise. Is there any reason to go with more than 12 levels of fighter that I'm missing? Rogue 5 doesn't have a whole lot to commend it, but then again neither does fighter 13. Of course, as the last line of my previous post implied, anything past character level 10 is liable to be academic anyway.....

Similar discussion going on in another thread. Another player wanting a drow or elf build using armor and not robes. I'd suggested a 12 ranger/6 pally/2 rogue. The build as shown in the link does not include any stat or HP boosts (didn't bother to select the enhancements)
Here's the build along with suggested equipment and possible stats with added high end tomes and gear:http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?p=3039109#post3039109
Here's the advantages you get from the different levels of each class:

my main character is the batman
32 pt build needed
lvl 7 rogue assassin, level 6 ranger tempest(favored undead and outsiders),level 7 paladin either prestige enhancement will work well undead hunter or knight of chalice it just depends on what u want to hunt i used dwarf as my race and im went paired dwarven axes the whole way level 1 rogue is key for huge skill points
because of all the required attributes for this combo i did my best to make them all as even as possible but i let my con and wis lack but the rest are pretty even this build is good soloing until 10(without hirelings) or so then like any other class u need help the batman is a caster killer... huge saves, evasion, crazy attack speed, and dwarfs get really good spellpoint boosting enhacements to make up for the low wisdom the only thing i would have done different is make him human and use kopeshes if u want the full build detailed out let me know ill post it
