Is it me or is this whole guild leveling thing a blatant ripoff of the Pathfinder Society faction prestige award system for PnP? For anyone who's not familiar with Pathfinder, it's basically D&D 3.75, or what D&D 4th edition should have been. This whole guild leveling award thing smells a lot to me like what Pathfinder society does in PnP with their factions and prestige awards. At this point DDO is so dated anyway I guess it doesn't matter what they do anymore.

isn't turbine working with wizards anyways? if so then why does it matter if they take mechanics from a d&d based system...

Possibly but Pathfinder isn't a WotC product, rather it's produced by Paizo which afaik has no connection to Turbine.

As to the OP I haven't looked at those rules in Pathfinder but it wouldn't surprise me much if some stuff was borrowed but systems like this aren't really unique in games so it's hard to point fingers at any particular game as a source.
