Best DPS build race and class suggestions

Hello All,

Noob question here .........recently came over from WOW.

May I ask opinions/suggestions for best current NON-MAGIC race and class for DPS build?

(Yes I understand about how configuration of points for attributes, skills, feats, actual armor and weapons equipped and overall player ability are a large part (if not most) of what determines a DPS, Tank, etc. toon)

Thought I would ask this question because:
A) The first choices on the new character setup screen are pretty much race and class.
B) Have been reading forum and web posts but most of them are from 2007 or before and from what I have heard DDO has changed ALOT in just the last couple of years.

First let me be the first to say there is no best DPS Class, it comes down to build and how you play the toon.
Fighters and Barbs have great DPS if built that way, you can also go AC builds and make intimitanks. Paly's can do a tremendous amount of burst DPS.
Clarification of how you like to play and what your goal is.

Look in the fighter,barb, class forums for dps builds, that should tell you alot.

Pick a class, pick a race build your toon and let er fly and see how she does. There is no Uber anything if you dont learn how to play and use your toons abilities to the maximum.

I'd go for either a THF greataxe FBIII Barb or a strength based TWF Khopesh Rogue. Those two tend to seem to put out the most dps imo.

Race: Warforged - hands down.

Class: depends on who you ask, comes U5 and THF fighters and TWF rogues will be the end of all dps. Closely followed by barbs paladins and various multiclasses.

Check out tihocan's excellent build thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=232660) for ideas. For a brand-new F2P player, I think a dwarf fighter or barbarian is the best choice for pure DPS.

Halfling strength based pure rogue with the Assasin enhancements and the new capstone will be a massive DPS build, and easy for newer players to make.
