I have been looking at spells lately, trying to find a use for some of them... and there simply are none...

so I propose we give at least one very important spell a use.. in the form of an item...

my idea is to change items with the "invulnerability" into items with either lesser/normal invulnerability, as per the spells globe of lesser/invulnerability, where they grant immunity to 3rd/4th level spells..

raise the minimum level on such items to equate to the actual spell caster levels.

i'm not saying they should be common by any means.. maybe even add it as an epic version of an item <on newly made epic content, not currently available>

the area that the globes from the actual spell. is simply far too small, and immobile.... and as we all know.. standing still is a big no-no

another thing i've noticed with the spells is that it not only prevents lvl 3/4 and lower spells from targeting you.. it also removes any 3/4th and lower buffs already on you.. which i feel is wrong, considering that spells can be cast "from within and through the area of the globe".... if i can cast inside the globe, why should by buffs, having been cast outside, be removed?

Heck, an easy way to make "invulnerablity" items useful would be to remove the /magic restriction from them. That way they might actually live up to their name (and have some useful effectivness past 4th level).

As for your suggestion, its kind of a good idea, but there are already items in game that have some spell 'invulnerability'. Spell resistance items really help against non-damaging spells and don't have the negative effects that globes do. Granted they don't provide complete protection, but they also don't have the downside of striping buffs while wearing them either. :D
