Ok here I go again on my fortnightly rant about grazing hits etc, but with yet another suggestion for it.
Currently the devs are experimenting with minions whose to hit will be modified down by 1d20 roll.
Now with the inflated to hit numbers in the rest of the upper end game, I think a modified version of this could replace current grazing hits for players system and provide a wider range of ac.
I would see it working like this (modifier die picked at random, not necessary to be 20)
mobs have their base to hit lets say +50 ac 70 is therefore hit only on a 20, the die is rolled to subtract from this (8) the to hit die is rolled a (10).
Result
ac 61+ safe
ac 52 and below is hit for full
ac 52-60 grazed
The die does not have to be d20 it could be any or combination eg 2d6.
It would retract the penalty provided to current high ac toons and provide a buff to those intermediate ac toons.
