I am a level 9 DPS, THF pally, and I think my AC is too low.

Here are the stats:

10 Base
1 Dexterity bonus ( max is 1)
13 Armor Bonus (+5 Full Plate)
3 Deflection Bonus (+3 Cloak of Perfection)
2 Misc bonus

I don't carry a shield...what am I missing here besides buffs / clickies during combat?

Thanks for the help.

Barkskin potion +3
Shield clickie +4
Defensive fighting +2

That's 9 more right there. What's your misc from? You're sitting at 29, 38 with the suggestions above. Add in your stances and/or enhancements and you should still be somewhat relevant. For times when you *need* ac, carry a +5 heavy shield and equip it. If you need to tank, tank. When you don't, swing the big stick. Adding a +5 sheild into the mix would put you at 47....you don't have to use it all the time but carry it for those rainy days when you need it.

If you want AC, you have to invest in it somewhat ... Combat Expertise, say. Still, you can be respectable for mid-game (though the way you're headed you won't stay that way for long).

since your a THF type i wouldnt worry to much about. barkskin will raise it, shield clicky, and some +5 mith FP. haste gives a +1 to your AC aswell.

To have a a meaningful AC beyond gianthold you have to invest in it quite a bit. If you are a KOTC you dont have the aps to dump them in bulwark of good. As youll want them in DS,Exalted smite,DM.
Your AC calcs are off shield clickies/wands do not stack with shields. So he would not be hitting a 47 ac. A 41 ac is fine for gh normal. Beyond that youll start getting hit quite a bit. You need a 65 or better in shavarath to really avoid hits. That takes a ton of gear and the defender pre's help. CE isnt worth it on a DPS build. You have to choose between it or power attack. For dps pa every time.

His current AC

10base
1 max dex
13 +5 full plate
3 +3 Prot cloak
2 Aura
=29
with suggestions
+3 bark
+4 shield clickie/wand
+2 d stance
+1 haste
39

with a shield not factoring in dex
would be a 40
42 with +2 dex.

OP

To help as you lvl Mith full plate will give you a +3 max dex. But +5 mfp isnt cheap. Get a +5 prot cloak at 13 11 if rr but unless you plan on being an ac build its just not worth it beyond Gianthold. If you are dps focused then keep that focus and stay KOTC. Worry about what will allow you to kill things faster.

On top of what was already said, you can get a +1 alchemical bonus to your armor by a crafting ritual, you need 5 vials of pure water though which is expensive, so you should only do it for your best armor. In the long run though, I wouldn't expect your AC to keep pace with the monsters, very few builds do. Focus on killing and disabling opponents and make sure you have heavy fortification.

Also, picking up a duskheart can help, it will give you blur automatically.

Great additional suggestion, with the additional Improved False Life (+20 HP)! However, Duskheart only gives 10% miss chance versus 20% for Blur...and unfortunately it doesn't stack with Blur :(
